Como están el día de hoy? Yo feliz de comenzar a participar en este gran concurso de películas navideñas que ha propuesto la comunidad. Siento que no podía empezar con otra cosa que no fuera una de mis películas favoritas de toda la vida, La noche antes de naividad, ya que, aunque está película no esté complemente basada en la navidad cotidiana, me parece una película increíble que veo todos los halloween y fechas decembrinas. En este escrito trate de de hablar en parte sobre cosas que he notado del personaje principal, y obviamente de los detalles de la pelicula
How are you today? I'm happy to start participating in this great Christmas movie contest proposed by the community. I feel that I couldn't start with anything other than one of my favorite movies of all my life, the nightmare before christmas, because, although this movie is not completely based on everyday Christmas, I think it's an amazing movie that I watch every Halloween and Christmas. In this writing I try to talk in part about things I have noticed about the main character, and obviously about the details of the movie.

Este maravilloso film fue creado y producido por Tim Burton y Michael Mcdowell, contando también con la dirección de Henry Selick, aclamado director el cual participó en otras películas como coraline. Esta obra logró ver la luz un 29 de octubre de 1993, fecha en la cual los cines estallaron por la espera tan grande que había detrás de esta película

Para dar un poco de contexto a quien no la conozca, aquí nos cuentan la historia de Jack, un esqueleto el cual era el rey calabaza en el mundo de halloween. Este insatisfecho por su realidad, busca nuevas cosas y experiencias, así adentrándose sin querer en el mundo de la navidad, para descubrir nuevos colores y festividades, buscando apoderarse de ella en un 100%
To give a little context to those who do not know it, here we are told the story of Jack, a skeleton who was the pumpkin king in the world of Halloween. Dissatisfied with his reality, he seeks new things and experiences, thus unwittingly entering the world of Christmas, to discover new colors and festivities, seeking to take over 100% of it.
En esta historia podemos llegar a ver las cosas superficialmente, solamente disfrutando un rato de la trama o tal vez pensando que es una simple película sin un trasfondo pero, que pasa si nos adentramos en la historia?

Jack es un no viviente el cual tenia todo lo que podía desear. Tenía al alcance de su mano la admiración de muchos y por ende, el endiosamiento tan notorio que lo caracterizaba. No me mal entiendan, yo amo a Jack y me parece un personaje iconico del cine, pero siempre hay que detenernos a pensar
Jack is a non-living who had everything he could wish for. He had at his fingertips the admiration of many and therefore, the notorious deification that characterized him. Don't get me wrong, I love Jack and I think he is an iconic character of cinema, but we must always stop to think about it.

Como ya sabemos, Jack había encontrado un vacío dentro de sí luego de alcanzar todas sus metas y propósitos de manera exitosa. El no entendía exactamente la razón de este vacío, sabiendo que ya el era todo lo que buscaba, por ende, decide emprender una aventura para buscar esa parte que le faltaba a su alma para estar completo
As we already know, Jack had found an emptiness inside himself after successfully achieving all his goals and purposes. He did not understand exactly the reason for this emptiness, knowing that he was already everything he was looking for, therefore, he decided to embark on an adventure to search for that part of his soul that was missing to make him complete.

Gracias a esto y a otras cosas, a lo largo de la pelicula notamos como nuestro protagonista, resulta siento una persona narcisista, ya que es poco empatica, solo piensa en si mismo y en sus sentimientos, y no le importa la opinión u ideas de los demás

Jack siempre se encargo de ignorar cualquier opinión o preocupación de sally, una chica que de verdad lo amaba y solo quería si bienestar. Esta en varias ocasiones le hablo de como las cosas podían salir mal, y como ella había tenido visiones de que todo iría en picada. Jack a todas esas advertencias, decidió seguir creyendo que el tenía la verdad absoluta y persiguió a ignorar cualquier comentario que no encajara con su realidad
Jack always took care to ignore any opinion or concern from Sally, a girl who truly loved him and only wanted him to be well. On several occasions she talked to him about how things could go wrong, and how she had had visions that everything would go downhill. Jack to all these warnings, decided to continue believing that he had the absolute truth and persisted to ignore any comment that did not fit with his reality.

Cerca del final de la pelicula, en los momentos donde todo sale mal, Jack porfin logra entender cuáles fueron sus malas acciones, y como estas perjudicaron a tantas personas y a una celebración tan adversa a el como lo puede ser la navidad. Aquí Jack entiende que no existe un propósito real, ya que cada persona está dirigida a diferentes realidades y momentos, y que esos vacíos que sentía simplemente eran sus ganas por salir de la monotonía que podía presentar el halloween y el terror
Near the end of the movie, in the moments where everything goes wrong, Jack finally manages to understand what his bad actions were, and how they harmed so many people and a celebration as adverse to him as Christmas can be. Here Jack understands that there is no real purpose, since each person is directed to different realities and moments, and that those voids that he felt were simply his desire to get out of the monotony that Halloween and terror could present.

Para mi esta película es simplemente una obra maestra. Aunque no es mi película favorita dentro del mundo del stopmotion, sin duda alguna es un film que merece todo el reconocimiento que ha tenido por más de 20 años

Yo personalmente, llego a entender el largo tiempo que se tomaron. Esta técnica para hacer películas siempre me ha fascinado y me parece simplemente irreplicable, aunque también se, que este detalle visual hace que la producción tarde años en sí quiera hacer un trailer.

Otro punto importantisimo a tocar, es que los guionistas se lucieron con su trabajo. Ellos lograron hacer que una película que tenía un gran esfuerzo por detrás, tuviera un guión y unas historias que daban justicia a todo el tiempo invertido.

Además de hablar del guión, los escenarios y demás, me gustaría aquí incluir algo que me quedo grabado en la mente la primera vez que lo vi. Me encantan con locura los personajes de los ayudantes de oggi boggi. Estos tres lindos y traviesos niños arman planes y crean historias que simplemente me encantan. Entre mi top de personajes favoritos sin duda estos hermanitos están entre los tres primero, no se si alguien de aquí comparta mi gusto por ellos

Y obviamente no me puedo ir sin mencionar las buenas canciones que existen dentro de la película. Tiene un Soundtrack maravilloso además de una de mis canciones favoritas que se llama ¡esto es halloween!, la cual es una de las más características de la película en sí
And obviously I can't leave without mentioning the good songs that exist within the movie. It has a wonderful soundtrack plus one of my favorite songs called "This is Halloween", which is one of the most characteristic songs of the movie itself.

Es una producción que recomiendo ver al 100% si son amantes del cine de terror en estas fechas decembrinas. Esta película no da nada de miedo, pero su ambientación hace que sea disfrutable para los fanáticos del cine terrorífico, o para simples amantes del halloween como yo.
It is a production that I recommend watching 100% if you are horror movie lovers during this holiday season. This movie is not scary at all, but its setting makes it enjoyable for horror fans, or for simple halloween lovers like me.

This is a wonderful review that I enjoyed reading all through. I love how you spoke about Jack's character. I think he is an intense character and I like he was able to make amends at the end of the film. Esta es tremenda película, yo en serio la disfruté por la profundidad de la historia, es verdad que percibimos todo de acuerdo a nuestra forma de ser, por eso a veces actuamos de forma egoísta tal como lo hizo Jack. Muy buena review.
Soy de los que considera al Extraño Mundo de Jack como una película para disfrutar en navidad. En el film se interpone tanto el Halloween como la temática de la nochebuena, hasta el punto en que ambos temas se vuelven alucinantes. El soundtrack es una maravilla: "¿QUÉ ES?" Es mi gran favorita entre las canciones jeje. Tengo mucho tiempo sin ver esta peli, quizás le de un vistazo para recordar viejos tiempos.
