Why These Anime Are “Among the Best” in 2025
Here’s my take on why each of these is held up — what makes them stand out, and what elements seem to push them into “best of” status.
The Apothecary Diaries Season 2:
The show has received positive reviews because of well-told stories, time-period setting, mystery, intrigue, and well-developed characters. Season 2 is based on the precedents of the first one: character dynamics are deepened, stakes are raised, pacing is enhanced. It is a sweet spot to historical fiction as well as mystery fans. It is also immersive due to the aesthetics (costumes, setting) and detail.
**Solo Leveling Season 2: **
Massive hype due to the popularity of the first season. Season 2 provides enhanced action scenes, more polished animation and enhanced emotional stakes (to both leading character and supporting characters). It is also inclined towards spectacle and when well executed, it is most gratifying. This offers people big fights, dramatic showdowns.
**Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX: **
Gundam is a legacy series so a new series is likely to receive thorough examination. GQuuuuuuX has received acclaim due to its solid mecha design, an ambitious plot, and a certain amount of new lore that matters. Dr. Stone: Science Future

💡 My Overall Thoughts / Which Ones I’d Call Truly The Best
Should I be called on to choose which of these, as yet (i.e. to the year-end), should be classed under the head of best, then the following are my most interesting, and the reasons why:
Solo Leveling Season 2 – it gives the audience what they desire, size, animation, momentum.
Season 2 The Apothecary Diaries- those who like mystery, plus period, plus character development, it is likely one of the best.
Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX - in the mecha category, this is proving to be the standard of 2025.
Though, such shows as Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray and Medalist are quite charming surprises, and they might lack universal appeal, but they are refreshing, or do what they are targeting. The shows that you remember a month later are those ones.
