Tokyo Godfathers [Movie Review] ESP/ENG

Last weekend I had the opportunity to see this movie, which I had read a review about once, right here in this community, so it caught my attention and I wanted to see it to get more context.
El fin de semana pasado tuve la oportunidad de ver esta película sobre la cuál leí una reseña en una ocasión, precisamente aquí, en esta comunidad, así que llamó mi atención y quise ver para tener un mayor contexto.
The film tells the story of three homeless men who one day find an abandoned baby. However, this encounter seems far from accidental, given several events that go beyond mere anecdote. One of these is the date: it was Christmas Eve, a very important day in Christianity. The most beautiful aspect is that despite the countless personal struggles each of them faces, which in some way led them to homelessness, they join forces, skills, and knowledge not only to care for the baby but also to try to find its parents.
La película trata sobre tres vagabundos que en una ocasión se encuentran a un bebé abandonado, sin embargo este encuentro no parece ser casual debido a muchos eventos que van más allá de lo anecdótico, y uno de ellos es la fecha, ya que se trataba de noche buena, la cuál es muy importante para el cristianismo. Lo más hermoso es que a pesar de los miles de problemas que cada uno de ellos tiene en su vida personal, y que de hecho de alguna manera los condujo a vivir en la indigencia, ellos unieron sus fuerzas, habilidades y conocimientos no solo para cuidar del bebé, sino para tratar de hallar a sus padres.
I really enjoyed the film because, although it's different from what I've usually seen, it offers many valuable lessons, such as the importance of family, perseverance, hope, and redemption. At the same time, it shows us a different but equally important perspective on big cities, like Tokyo in this case. Usually, big cities are full of people, each with a hectic life, all focused on their own affairs, and if they pay attention to the homeless, it's only to speak to them with disdain or disgust. They despise them and keep them on the margins of society, considering them useless and even dangerous. But this film seeks to show a more human side of them. It was precisely because they were on the margins of society and living near the garbage that they found the baby, and they acted with conviction and empathy, giving that little one the love, solidarity, respect, and importance that society itself denied them.
Me gustó mucho la película porque aunque se sale de lo que usualmente yo había visto, esta nos ofrece muchas enseñanzas valiosas como la importancia de la familia, la perseverancia, la esperanza y la redención, pero al mismo tiempo nos muestra un enfoque diferente pero igualmente importante de las grandes ciudades, como Tokio, en este caso. Usualmente las grandes ciudades están llenas de personas, cada una con una vida ajetreada, todos enfocados en sus propios asuntos, y si acaso prestan atención a los vagabundos es solo para dirigirles palabras de desdén o asco, los desprecian y los mantienen al margen de la sociedad por considerarlos seres inútiles y hasta peligroso, pero esta película busca mostrar un enfoque más humanos de ellos, pues al estar al margen de la sociedad y vivir precisamente cerca de la basura fue que encontraron al bebé, pero además actuaron con convicción y empatía, le brindaron a ese pequeño el cariño, la solidaridad, el respeto y la importancia que la propia sociedad les negó a todos ellos.
The group of homeless people is made up of very different individuals: a man who is on the streets to escape his past, a transgender woman who quit her job after a heartbreak and ended up on the streets, and a teenage boy who ran away from home because of problems with his family. However, throughout the film, although they sometimes face very funny situations, they must also confront their past in some way. But the most beautiful thing is seeing how they care for each other, how they value and defend each other, which creates a beautiful bond of brotherhood. Furthermore, the film shows us something I've always believed: that nothing happens by chance, everything has a reason in this life. So all those "coincidences" or chance encounters that these three must face on their journey to find the baby's parents are there so that they themselves can find their own redemption.
El grupo de vagabundos está conformado por personas muy diferentes: un hombre que está en las calles por huir de su pasado, una mujer transgénero que después de tener una decepción amorosa dejó su empleo y terminó en las calles, y un chico adolescente que huyó de casa por tener problemas con su familia, sin embargo a lo largo de toda la película, aunque en ocasiones se enfrentan a situaciones muy graciosas, también deben enfrentar de cierta forma su pasado, pero lo más bonito es ver como se cuidan entre sí, como se valoran y defienden, lo cuál los hace crear un hermoso vínculo de hermandad, además la película nos indica algo que siempre he creído, que nada sucede por casualidad, todo tiene un porqué en esta vida, así que todas esas "casualidades" o coincidencias a las que estos tres deben enfrentarse en su travesía para buscar a los padres del bebé, están allí para que ellos mismos encuentren su propia redención.
I wholeheartedly recommend this movie because, in addition to its thought-provoking moments, it's also very funny, with some hilarious scenes. Thank you so much for reading my post. See you next time, God willing.
