Greetings to all movie fans! Today I bring you my first publication in this community dedicated to appreciate the art of cinematography, and what better way to start here than with a review of the 2009 American horror film "Drag Me to Hell" which although it has already some years of release, is still one of the most entertaining in its genre, so stay here to learn more about this amazing film.

I will tell you briefly how I came to see this movie, I was quietly on TikTok when I see a horrible video of an old woman vomiting cockroaches on a girl, this traumatized me, but as I like to be traumatized I did some research and discovered that it was a movie, so I decided to watch it, I saw that it was on Netflix, and I told my sister to come with me to watch it together because then I can not sleep at night hahaha.

Christine Brown is a girl who works in a loan agency, she is looking for a promotion in her job, trying to impress her boss Christine denies the opportunity of a loan to an old gypsy woman who is about to lose her house. To the girl's bad luck, the old woman pours a curse on her, which will disturb her and will not leave her alone.

A loan officer, Christine Brown, is waiting for a promotion, but her boss points out that she does not have the determination to make the difficult decisions that the position requires. Among her clients appears a singular and strange old woman, Sylvia Ganush, who asks to extend the term of the payment of the installment of her mortgage, a request that Christine denies to demonstrate that she can make difficult decisions and that she has the capacity to have the position she desires. The old woman, Ganush, begs the girl to take back her home, but she refuses and calls security because of the scandal the old woman made.

On the way to the parking lot, Christine gets into her car and is violently attacked by Ganush, who rips a button off the girl's jacket and uses it to curse her. The police arrive after the incident and Christine goes with her boyfriend Clay Dalton to see a fortune teller who tells the girl that she was cursed by an evil spirit.

Once at home, Christine is attacked in her sleep by the spirit. Fed up with the situation, the girl goes to talk to Ganush at her granddaughter's house, when she realizes that the old woman is dead. Christine returns to the fortune teller and he explains that she is cursed by a demon called the Lamia, who will torment her for three days before dragging her to hell. The soothsayer suggests a sacrifice to calm the demon. The next day the demon attacks Christine in her house, in desperation, she sacrifices her kitten. A short time later the girl goes to her boyfriend's parents' house, where she is tormented again by the Lamia, and ends up throwing her cup at a door out of desperation, Clay's mother says that the girl is sick and that she has to leave.

The girl returns to the fortune teller, and he tells her that an experienced spiritualist would risk her life to banish the demon for the sum of $10,000. The spiritualist arranges a séance to kill the spirit and trap it inside a goat, which is then sacrificed. The spirit is transferred to the goat, the spiritualist's assistant tries to kill it, but instead is bitten and the demon is transferred to him, attacking those present. The fortune teller seals the curse button on an envelope and tells the girl that she would be freed from everything if she gave the envelope to someone as a gift, thus passing the curse on to someone else.

After arriving home, Christine looks for someone to pass the gift to, and decides to pass it on to her partner Stu, who stole some work she had done and passed it off as his own, but eventually changes his mind out of pity. Ultimately, the girl goes to the fortune teller again, and she learns that she can transfer the curse to Ganush even if she is dead, so she goes to the cemetery where the old woman was buried and digs to enter her grave, and with the corpse uncovered, Christine inserts the button inside the old woman to get rid of the curse.

The next day, the boss calls her and tells her that the job she wanted so much belongs to her. The happy girl goes with her boyfriend, Clay, to spend a week of vacation, he plans to propose to her and tells Christine that he found the envelope containing the cursed button in his car, the girl realizes that she mistook the envelope with another one she had given to her boyfriend.
Disturbed by the situation, she falls on the train tracks out of desperation, at which point flames emerge from the ground and she is dragged to hell.

🔸 My personal opinion

---

From my point of view as a consumer, (because I clarify that I do not know how to criticize a movie because I am not a critic hahaha) I found it a very entertaining film to watch if you are looking for a horror movie that does not bore you, the story although it is simple, is very catchy, besides it has super shocking and grotesque scenes that I am sure that a fan of this genre would love, while watching it I was shocked and sometimes I jumped out of fear because things happen that leave you speechless. This movie has that factor that makes you feel a real disgust, because the makeup they use is very realistic, sometimes I covered my eyes because it was too much for my taste hahahaha.

Another thing that I found very cool is the way they handle the moments where they scare you, because sometimes they are quite unexpected, which made me and my sister scream a lot hahaha, the scenarios that were shown were quite grotesque and conveyed the feeling that the character was going through, something that I really appreciated. From what I see the movie received good reviews from the public and rotten tomatoes, with a percentage of 92%.

To conclude, I consider that if you are looking for an entertaining movie that does not bore you at any time, this is the one for you, it has moments that will make you want to see more and more, and that is a factor that not all movies have.

Les contaré resumidamente cómo llegué a ver esta película, estaba tranquilamente por TikTok cuándo me sale un vídeo horrible de una anciana vomitando cucarachas encima de una chica, esto me traumó, pero como me gusta traumarme investigué un poco y descubrí que se trataba de una película, así que me decidí a verla, vi que estaba en Netflix, y le dije a mi hermana que me acompañara para verla juntos porque después no puedo dormir en la noche jajaja.

Christine Brown es una chica que trabaja en una agencia de préstamos, ella está en búsqueda de un ascenso en su puesto de trabajo, al tratar de impresionar a su jefe Christine le niega la oportunidad de un préstamo a una anciana gitana que está a punto de perder su casa. Para mala suerte de la chica, la anciana vierte una maldición sobre ella, la cual la perturbara y no la dejara en paz.

Una ejecutiva de préstamo, Christine Brown, espera un ascenso, su jefe le señala que no posee la determinación para tomar desiciones difíciles, las cuales ese puesto amerita. Entre sus clientes la aparece una singular y extraña anciana, Sylvia Ganush, quien pide extender el plazo de el pago de la cuota de su hipoteca, pedido que Christine niega para demostrar que si puede tomar desiciones difíciles y que tiene la capacidad de tener el puesto que desea. La anciana, Ganush, ruega a la chica para recuperar su hogar, pero esta se niega y llama a seguridad debido a el escándalo que la anciana formó.

Camino al estacionamiento, Christine entra a su auto y es atacada violentamente por Ganush, esta arranca un botón de la chaqueta de la chica y lo usa para maldecirla. La policía llega después de el incidente y Christine se va con su novio Clay Dalton a ver a un adivino quien le cuenta a la chica que fue maldecida por un espíritu maligno.

Ya en casa, Christine es atacada mientras duerme por el espíritu. Ya harta de la situación, la chica va a conversar con Ganush en la casa de su nieta, momento en dónde se da cuenta que la anciana falleció. Christine regresa con el adivino y este le explica que está maldecida por un demonio llamado la Lamia, quien la atormentará por tres días antes de arrastrarla al infierno. El adivino sugiere un sacrificio para calmar al demonio. Al día siguiente el demonio ataca a Christine en su casa, desesperada, sacrifica a su gatito. Rato después la chica va a casa de los padres del novio, donde es atormentada de nuevo por la Lamia, y termina tirando su copa a una puerta por desesperación, la mamá de Clay dice que la chica está enferma y que tiene que irse.

La chica regresa al adivino, y el le dice que una espiritista experimentada arriesgaría su vida para desterrar al demonio por la cantidad de 10.000 dólares. La espiritista prepara una sesión para acabar con el espíritu y atraparlo dentro de una cabra, la cual luego sacrificarían. El espíritu es traspasado a la cabra, el ayudante de la espiritista trata de matarlo, pero en su lugar es mordido y el demonio se traspasa a el, atacando a los presentes. El adivino sella el botón de la maldición en un sobre y le cuenta a la chica que se liberaría de todo si le entrega el sobre a alguien como regalo, de este modo pasando la maldición a otra persona.

Después de llegar a su hogar, Christine busca a quien pasarle el regalo, y decide pasárselos a su compañero Stu, quien le robó un trabajo hecho por ella y lo hizo pasar como suyo, pero al final cambia de parecer por lástima. En últimas instancias, la chica acude al adivino de nuevo, y está aprende que puede transferir la maldición a Ganush incluso estando muerta, así que esta se dirige al cementerio donde estaba enterrada la anciana y cava para entrar a su tumba, ya estando el cadáver al descubierto, Christine introduce el botón dentro de la anciana para así librarse de la maldición.

Al día siguiente, el jefe la llama y le avisa que el puesto que tanto quería le pertenece. La chica feliz se dirige con el novio, Clay, a pasar una semana de vacaciones, este planea proponerle matrimonio y le cuenta a Christine que encontró el sobre que contenía el botón maldito en su auto, la chica se percata que confundió el sobre con otro que le había entregado a su novio.
Perturbada por la situación, se cae en las vías del tren por el desespero, momento en dónde del suelo surgen llamas y es arrastrada hasta el infierno.

🔸 Mi opinión personal

Desde mi punto de vista de consumidor, (porque aclaro que no se cómo criticar una película porque no soy crítico jajaja) me pareció un filme demasiado entretenido de ver si estás buscando una película de terror que no te aburra, la historia aunque sea simple, es muy atrapante, a demás de que tiene escenas súper impactantes y grotescas que estoy seguro que a un fanático de este género le encantarían, yo mientras la veía me quedaba impactado y algunas veces salte del miedo porque suceden cosas que te dejan boquiabierto. Está peli tiene ese factor que te hace sentir un asco verdadero, ya que el maquillaje que utilizan es muy realista, algunas veces me tape los ojos porque era demasiado para mí gusto jajajaja.

Otra cosa que me pareció muy genial es la forma en la que manejan los momentos donde te asustan, porque algunas veces son bastante inesperados, cosa que hizo que soltara junto con mi hermana muchos gritos jajaja, los escenarios que se mostraban eran bastante grotescos y te transmitían la sensación por la cual el personaje estaba pasando, algo que en verdad aprecié mucho. Por lo que veo la película recibió buenas críticas por parte de el público y de rotten tomatoes, con un porcentaje del 92%.

Para concluir, considero que si estás buscando una película entretenida y que no te aburra en ningún momento, esta es indicada para ti, tiene momentos que harán que sigas queriendo ver más y más, y eso es un factor que no tienen todas las películas.
