Hacía un largo tiempo que no veía una película de acción tan divertida, hasta que encontré entre las novedades de Amazon Prime una sugerencia que llamó mi atención. Tenía como protagonistas a John Cena e Idris Elba, por lo que supuse que sus personalidades serían totalmente opuestas; no me equivoqué.
Jefes de Estado es una película dirigida por Ilya Naishuller, la cual se enfoca en ofrecer grandes dosis de acción, con un montón de situaciones límite en las que un presidente y un primer ministro deberán colaborar en todo momento para salir con vida de las amenazas de una conspiración contra ellos.
John Cena (Will Derringer) protagoniza al presidente de los Estados Unidos, con un pasado como estrella de acción, mientras que Idris Elba (Sam Clarke) al primer ministro de Reino Unido. En ciertos momentos su rivalidad hace que se produzcan algunos intercambios de palabras divertidos, pero sin llegar a ser una amistad, logran disponer de cierta química.
It had been a long time since I had seen such a fun action movie, until I found among the new releases on Amazon Prime a suggestion that caught my attention. It starred John Cena and Idris Elba, so I assumed their personalities would be complete opposites; I was not wrong.
Heads of State is a film directed by Ilya Naishuller, which focuses on offering large doses of action, with a lot of borderline situations in which a president and a prime minister must collaborate at all times to get out alive from the threats of a conspiracy against them.
John Cena (Will Derringer) stars as the President of the United States, with a background as an action star, while Idris Elba (Sam Clarke) plays the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. At certain moments their rivalry makes for some amusing exchanges of words, but without becoming a friendship, they manage to have some chemistry.

La conspiración es global, afectando a distintos países, lo cual nos hace conocer a otro personaje muy influyente en la historia y soporte de los protagonistas. Al estar al tanto de las amenazas a nivel internacional, una agente del MI6 ha aceptado una misión en la que Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) ofrecerá su apoyo como agente de inteligencia, una gran fidelidad a quienes intenta proteger con base a sus habilidades y experiencia táctica.
Lo que resulta gracioso es la valentía de esta agente, dejando boquiabiertos al presidente y al primer primer ministro. Sin embargo, luego terminan confiando por completo en cómo se maneja en el campo de batalla. Una agente totalmente decidida, que a su vez nos hace disfrutar de escenas de acción de mucha valentía.
The conspiracy is global, affecting different countries, which makes us meet another very influential character in the story and support of the protagonists. Being aware of the threats at an international level, an MI6 agent has accepted a mission in which Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) will offer her support as an intelligence agent, a great loyalty to those she tries to protect based on her skills and tactical experience.
What is funny is the bravery of this agent, leaving the president and the first prime minister dumbfounded. However, they then end up completely trusting how she handles herself on the battlefield. A totally determined agent, who in turn makes us enjoy action scenes of great bravery.

Como equipo podríamos decir que funciona. Salvo que el carácter de ambos mandatarios surge en situaciones inoportunas. Sobre todo cuando se debe elegir una forma de escapar de un sitio rodeado de enemigos, pocas veces coincidiendo.
La seriedad que tiene el primer ministro con la personalidad impulsiva del presidente, hacen que sea un coctel de diversión. Aunque también podríamos asegurar que el primer ministro logra complementarse bien a la agente, ya que este tiene experiencia por haber sido parte del SAS en el pasado. Y eso es algo que se refleja muy bien cuando la acción llega sin golpear la puerta.
En lo particular me pareció impresionante que las situaciones de enfrentamientos a golpes se de con más soltura por parte de una chica de contextura baja que por parte de hombres de un volumen importante. A decir verdad me encantó, porque refleja que no siempre algo que marca la diferencia es la fuerza, sino la habilidad, inteligencia, y el uso de técnicas de evasión; algo en lo que Noel es experta. Aunque sí, golpizas hay de sobra en esta película.
As a team, we could say that it works. Except that the character of both leaders emerges in inopportune situations. Especially when they have to choose a way to escape from a place surrounded by enemies, rarely coinciding.
The seriousness that has the prime minister with the impulsive personality of the president, make it a cocktail of fun. Although we could also assure that the prime minister manages to complement the agent well, since he has experience for having been part of the SAS in the past. And that is something that is reflected very well when the action comes without knocking on the door.
In particular I found it impressive that the situations of confrontations with blows are given with more ease by a girl of short build than by men of a significant volume. To tell the truth I loved it, because it reflects that it is not always strength that makes the difference, but skill, intelligence, and the use of evasion techniques; something in which Noel is an expert. Although yes, there are plenty of beatings in this movie.

A nivel de producción estamos hablando de efectos muy impresionantes. Las explosiones son realmente fascinantes, seguidas de momentos de adrenalina en la que los personajes intentan enfrentar con dificultades, aferrándose a la supervivencia cuando parece que todo juega en su contra. Obviamente sin la cooperación de ambos, la situación podría terminar para ellos muy mal. La película en sí nos transmite esa sensación, pero nos es mucho más satisfactorio ver cómo salen ilesos y terminan nuevamente juntos enfrentando la siguiente situación de dificultades.
Al tratarse de mandatarios de potencias mundiales, fue todo un acierto la inclusión de un avión presidencial, o también ver a "La Bestia" recibir una cantidad enorme de balas en una huida frenética. Puedo decir que disfruté cada minuto de esas escenas.
At the production level we are talking about very impressive effects. The explosions are really fascinating, followed by moments of adrenaline as the characters try to cope with difficulties, clinging to survival when everything seems to be working against them. Obviously without the cooperation of both, the situation could end very badly for them. The film itself conveys that feeling, but it is much more satisfying to see them emerge unscathed and end up back together facing the next difficult situation.
Since they are world power leaders, the inclusion of a presidential airplane was a great success, as well as seeing “The Beast” taking a huge amount of bullets in a frantic escape. I can say that I enjoyed every minute of those scenes.

En esta película el arsenal no es escaso. De hecho en una parte del film podemos ver a una persona que los intenta ayudar y luego nos encontramos con que ocultaba secretos y una personalidad bastante intensa. Aunque esperaría que sepan quién es, pues simplemente los sorprenderá tanto como a mí.
Pero lo cierto es que la colaboración, aún no coincidiendo en opiniones o personalidad, en situaciones así hay que dejarlas a un lado. O tal vez, tomarnos la vida de una manera mucho más amistosa, para hacerle frente todo mal.
In this film the arsenal is not scarce. In fact in one part of the film we get to see a person who tries to help them and then we find out that he was hiding secrets and a pretty intense personality. Although I would expect you to know who it is, as it will simply surprise you as much as it did me.
But the truth is that collaboration, even if we don't agree on opinions or personality, in situations like this we have to put them aside. Or perhaps, take life in a much more friendly way, to face all evil.

En definitiva, esta película me pareció genial. Divertida en absoluto, como también un buen motivo para disfrutar de un momento de acción frenético, con tintes de humor que hacen que uno se mantenga enganchado de principio a fin gracias al buen desempeño de estos actores. Sin dudas recomiendo esta película, y si te animas a verla, espero la disfrutes.
All in all, I thought this movie was great. Absolutely fun, as well as a good reason to enjoy a moment of frenetic action, with touches of humor that make you stay hooked from beginning to end thanks to the good performance of these actors. I definitely recommend this movie, and if you dare to watch it, I hope you enjoy it.
