El Eternauta es una serie de ciencia ficción que ha aterrizado en Netflix y ha generado muy buenas críticas alrededor del mundo. Se trata de una adaptación a la historieta creada por Héctor Germán Oesterheld. Lo que realmente llama la atención es el nivel de producción que ha tenido esta serie, lo cual representa un gran logro con respecto a la industria nacional argentina, bajo un ambiente cinematográfico.

Esta producción está dirigida por el cineasta Bruno Stagnaro, quien consideró para el papel de la serie, de carácter apocalíptico, a Ricardo Darín; conocido por grandes obras como "El secreto de sus ojos" ó "Nueve reinas", entre otras producciones donde su actuar demuestra que es la persona ideal para ser un gran protagonista. Esta no es la excepción.

What is really striking is the level of production that this series has had, which represents a great achievement with respect to the Argentine national industry, under a cinematographic environment.

Desde un primer momento nos encontramos con una escena de cómo la vida se sucede en total plenitud. Las amistades encuentran su momento ideal, pero no tarda mucho en que se nos presente una serie de eventos que no parecen tener explicación, pero que de alguna manera pueden ser interpretados como una falla ambiental climática.

Todo se vuelve mucho más dramático cuando un grupo de amigos se da cuenta de que en sus alrededores, la gente cae desplomada sobre la calle. Un temporal que no parece apto para el verano. Ese condimento misterioso en el que cae nieve, con el agregado de que les resulta mortal al hacer contacto con la piel. Esa nieve es sin duda alguna una manera sutil de decorar la ciudad, de volverla mucho más bella y espectacular, a costa de cubrirla con la toxicidad de sustancias que no se pueden comprender.

La trama puede parecer algo lenta, pero lo interesante es la atmósfera que se nos entrega, haciendo que tengamos una suerte de inmersión por querer acompañar al protagonista y sentir que sus amigos puedan volver a reunirse. La cantidad de situaciones que se da en esta serie son diversas, y no solo tienen que ver con los efectos inmediatos de la nieve. Se da también la intención de sobrevivir, lo que hará que quienes aún sigan con vida, luchen o desconfíen del otro. Algo característico de las series post-apocalípticas; aunque supongo que si yo estuviera en ese momento y lugar específico, tendría miedo de que intenten robar mi traje protector o las armas que tengo para defender a mi familia.

From the very first moment we encounter a scene of how life happens in total plenitude. Friendships find their ideal moment, but it doesn't take long before we are presented with a series of events that seem to have no explanation, but can somehow be interpreted as a climatic environmental failure.

Everything becomes much more dramatic when a group of friends notices that in their surroundings, people are falling down on the street. A storm that does not seem suitable for summer. That mysterious seasoning in which snow falls, with the addition that it is deadly when it comes into contact with their skin. That snow is undoubtedly a subtle way to decorate the city, to make it much more beautiful and spectacular, at the cost of covering it with the toxicity of substances that cannot be understood.

The plot may seem a bit slow, but the interesting thing is the atmosphere that is given to us, making us feel immersed by wanting to accompany the protagonist and feel that his friends can be reunited. The number of situations that occur in this series are diverse, and not only have to do with the immediate effects of the snow. There is also the intention to survive, which will make those who are still alive, fight or distrust each other. Something characteristic of post-apocalyptic series; although I suppose that if I were in that specific time and place, I would be afraid that they would try to steal my protective suit or the weapons I have to defend my family.

Desplazarse por Buenos Aires resulta todo un desafío. Sobre todo porque no se sabe qué está sucediendo, ni qué peligros hay al otro lado. Tampoco hasta dónde abarca este caos, que podría fácilmente llegar a otros países o continentes, si no es el mundo entero. Lo que es la comunicación está totalmente perdida. Toda una población que ha perdido contacto con sus seres queridos y con el propio gobierno; inexistente desde el primer instante, al menos cuando se empiezan a ver signos de que los militares están detrás de una amenaza latente aún mayor.

Esta serie demuestra valores muy importantes, como la amistad incondicional, la fuerza de voluntad, el compañerismo y la compasión. Pero también nuestro sentido de supervivencia más intrínseco que se encuentre en el fondo de nuestro ser, que nos ayudará a escapar con vida en situaciones límite, sea enfrentándonos a potenciales enemigos como también a criaturas que no deberían pertenecer a este mundo, como los cascarudos, que acechan en locaciones específicas en puntos estratégicos, con la sospecha de que poseen una gran inteligencia que no se debería subestimar bajo ningún punto.

Getting around Buenos Aires is a challenge. Especially because you don't know what is going on, nor what dangers are on the other side. Nor how far this chaos extends, which could easily reach other countries or continents, if not the whole world. Communication is totally lost. An entire population that has lost contact with their loved ones and with the government itself; non-existent from the very first instant, at least when signs begin to show that the military is behind an even greater latent threat.

This series demonstrates very important values, such as unconditional friendship, willpower, companionship and compassion. But also our most intrinsic sense of survival that lies at the core of our being, which will help us escape alive in extreme situations, whether facing potential enemies or creatures that should not belong to this world, such as the shells, which lurk in specific locations at strategic points, with the suspicion that they possess a great intelligence that should not be underestimated at any point.

La actuación de Ricardo Darín como Juan Salvo es simplemente alucinante. Se muestra como un personaje que está dispuesto a sacrificarse por el bien de los demás. Algo que en algunos casos también puede verse en su amigo Favalli (César Troncoso), quien conoce con precisión todo tema referente a la electrónica, lo que su aporte es sustancial para vivir un día más y poder mantener la esperanza de que ese mundo con el que se encontraron cambiará.

Los personajes secundarios, pero no por eso menos importantes, logran aportar un gran valor a la trama debido a la experiencia en actuación en series y novelas reconocidas. Sin embargo, creo que haría mención de la impecable actuación de Ariel Staltari como Omar, que inicialmente no parecía llevarse bien con el grupo debido a discusiones que parecían elevarse de todo, sintiéndose disminuido. Algo que la serie también nos enseña es que en casos en los que necesitas del otro, también puedes comprender y ponerte en sus pies.

A nivel cinematográfico, la serie presenta mucha calidad artística. Me he tomado el deber de ver cómo se realizaron las tomas detrás de cámara y puedo decir que es un trabajo que merece aplausos. La tecnología ha permitido que una ciudad cambie su rostro y pueda ser representada lo más fiel posible a la realidad. En varias escenas podemos ver todo tipo de referencias a la argentina. Podemos llegar a encontrar en cualquier momento elementos que nos representa, desde los trenes argentinos que utilizamos cotidianamente, hasta algo más sutil como un llavero con la imagen de los campeones del mundo.

Ricardo Darín's performance as Juan Salvo is simply mind-blowing. He comes across as a character who is willing to sacrifice himself for the good of others. Something that in some cases can also be seen in his friend Favalli (César Troncoso), who knows precisely everything related to electronics, which his contribution is substantial to live another day and to keep the hope that the world they encountered will change.

The secondary characters, but not for that reason less important, manage to contribute great value to the plot due to their experience in acting in well-known series and novels. However, I think I would make mention of Ariel Staltari's impeccable performance as Omar, who initially did not seem to get along with the group due to arguments that seemed to rise above everything, feeling diminished. Something the series also teaches us is that in cases where you need the other, you can also understand and put yourself at their feet.

On a cinematographic level, the series presents a lot of artistic quality. I have taken the duty to see how the behind-the-scenes shots were made and I can say that it is a work that deserves applause. Technology has allowed a city to change its face and can be represented as true to reality as possible. In several scenes we can see all kinds of references to Argentina. We can find elements that represent us at any time, from the Argentine trains that we use every day, to something more subtle like a keychain with the image of the world champions.

Sin dudas es una serie que recomiendo verla, teniendo en cuenta que no debes esperar a que la trama ceda rápidamente a la acción. Si bien existe, estará dada en dosis que sean convenientes para mantener el suspenso y la adrenalina en niveles que hagan que puedas continuar viendo el siguiente capítulo. Aunque sabiendo que esta serie dispone de solo 6 capítulos, probablemente te quedes con ganas de ver más, o en resumidas cuentas, ver si mencionan cuándo se lanzará una segunda temporada. Espero disfrutes tanto como yo.

Undoubtedly it is a series that I recommend watching, keeping in mind that you should not expect the plot to give way quickly to action. While it exists, it will be given in doses that are convenient to keep the suspense and adrenaline at levels that make you continue watching the next chapter. Although knowing that this series has only 6 episodes, you'll probably be left wanting to see more, or in short, see if they mention when a second season will be released. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
