CineTV Contest #36: My Favorite Halloween Movie - Bhool Bhulaiya 2

As long as Halloween is related to Horror movies, to be honest, I have not watched many horror movies. I hate being shocked and starlet when ghosts suddenly appeared. I am not afraid of ghosts in the movie, I just hate the jumpscare.

But to join this challenge, I have to think hard, what the horror movie that I watched recently. I still think about that till the 4 days past and thought I would skip this week's challenge. Until this movie crossed my mind. It was Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, a horror movie from Bollywood. I watched these movie cause at first this movie is not full of horror.

So this is my submission for this challenge.

Bhool Bhulaiyya 2

A little fun fact about this movie is a sequel to a movie with the same title, Bhool Bhulaiyya, a 2007 movie starts with Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Ameesha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, and many more.

Meanwhile, the second sequel starts with Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani, and many more.

Both of these movies' stories have no connection unless the theme. Instead of a horror movie, the first installment of Bhool Bhulaiya is about a psychology horror movie meanwhile the second installment is about a horror comedy movie.

Bhool Bhulaiyya means Labyrint. It refers to a room that everyone can't be opened cause there is an evil spirit trapped inside. In the second sequel, it is still about the same room that has an evil spirit.

• An Accidentally Dead

The story begins with Reet Thakur and Ruhan Rhandawa (Rooh) meeting on the trip. Reet is a girl from a wealthy family who will soon be married. For that reason, she also has a fun time with Rooh, who since the first time met, Rooh has fallen in love with Reet. Instead of coming home on time, Rooh invites Reet to stay a night longer there, and luckily it saves the two of them from the accident. When Reet calls his family to tell them that she is fine, Reet overhears that his fiancé and his sister, Trisha are happy that they don't have to part. Reet knows that her sister and her fiancé love each other. Because she loves her sister, Trisha so much, Reet doesn't even tell her that she's okay. She let his family think he was dead until his sister married his fiancé.

Due can not go back home as alive Reet, she hides from her family in their family palace. Rooh is alongside Reet cause Rooh looks for a chance to have Reet as his lover.

Then they are hiding in the palace close Reet family's home. For many years that palace is closed cause has an evil spirit in the back then.

Accidentally, someone saw the palace is opened. He then told the owner of the palace and the whole of the family members to flock to the palace. Reet and Rooh are panicked. Reet then hides somewhere while unlucky Rooh is being caught. Rooh says that he is a delegator of Reet's spirit who want the palace to be liveable again as Reet wishes. If they will not accept Reet's last wish, Rooh said that Reet's spirit can't be restful. Rooh is then known as Rooh Baba because of his fudge. Reet's family believes that Rooh will be intermediary between reet and them. Rooh is safe around Reet's family. Rooh promise that he would help Reet until her sister married her fiance.

On another side, Reet tells about a labyrinth in that palace to Rooh. Reet told that their aunty, Manjulika, is one of the aunts of her twin aunt who loves black magic. Back then, Manjulika is jealous of Anjulika, her twin sister, who is married to the man she likes. Unfortunately, his uncle who is currently disabled by the evil spirit of Manjulika prefers Anjulika. Manjulika plans to kill Anjulika but she ends up dead and becomes a wandering-evil spirit.

While waiting for her sister, Tisha, to marry her fiance, Reet is still hiding. Reet and Rooh then got into a lot of chaos because of their lies, including the real fact about Manjulika.

• Plot Twist

As a horror comedy movie, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 is successful in entertaining audiences including me. I know this is not full of horror that make me goosebumps, but the perfect story makes me have to standing applause. I even can't guess what the story will be. The plot twist is nice and deserves an award.

My favorite character was Tabu's role as a twin sister who has different personalities. As a senior actress, she succeeded to present an evil spirit and an innocent girl at the same time.

The second character that I love is Reet played by Kiara Advani. I have to praise her acting improvement. I got goosebumps when she pretended to be in a trance in a scene. It looks tough-scary. She should have gotten an award for her performance in this movie.

I can not much about Kartik Aaryan as Rooh. He plays the roles nicely. Even though he can not look the spirit in real, at the end of the story he helps Reet's family find the fact about Manjulika. So his role is as important as Akshay Kumar's role in the first franchise, Bhool Bhulaiyya.

All supporting roles in this movie are good like Rajpal Yadav, an iconic comedian who has played thousands of films as the person who brought laughter to the audiences.

I gave this movie 5 stars from 5 stars. It is Perfect!
