Movie Review: Agak Laen 2 - Menyala Pantiku

Hi Movie lovers...
What movie do you watch nowadays?

We don't do this regularly; only when there's a suitable film, we watch it together—my coworkers and I. For example, this month, a new comedy film was released, the second installment of the first film, titled "AGAK LAEN," titled "AGAK LAEN: Menyala Pantiku." My three colleagues and I happened to have a morning schedule, allowing us to go to the cinema together after work. So here we are, watching this comedy that has already reached millions of viewers.

I actually had no intention of seeing it in the cinema, but since my coworkers were going to see it this time, I volunteered. It turned out to be a good decision. The audience erupted in laughter throughout the film. This second film was hilarious!

Agak Laen: Menyala Pantiku

Agak Laen tells the story of four investigators named Boris, Oki, Jegel, and Bene. These four were assigned to find the murderer of the mayor's son but ended up making a wrongful arrest. This mistake led to their punishment and salary cuts. They were even dismissed from their duties to find the murderer of Freddy—the mayor's son. Outside of their work, these four police officers have different personal problems that are still related to financial problems. Boris is dealing with his divorce, Bene is dealing with his sister's outstanding college fees, Oki is dealing with his wife's maternity expenses, and Jegel is dealing with his mother's needs. However, they can do nothing but surrender and stick together to solve the case.

One thing I can say about this film is—Broken! Yes, as I mentioned earlier, this film is funnier than the first film. The flow and plot, although cliché, feel very fresh in the Indonesian comedy genre. I really like the theme of this murder search where the main character is a police officer who indirectly shows his true self—wrongful arrest hahhahaa..

I am very satisfied with this implicit satire. The following scenes really invite laughter non-stop even when the scene has moved to a normal scene—not a comedy, I am still ringing with the humor of the previous scene. The four actors have their own characteristics and all of them are funny. There are many subtle satire that relates to society, hopefully it is conveyed.

I rate this film 5 out of 5 stars; HILORIOUS
