Hi Movie lovers...
What movie do you watch nowadays?

I hope you're not bored with the Indian films I've been reviewing here. This is a great film, and I didn't want to miss out on sharing it. Perhaps someone can learn something from it, just like I did. For those who like cheerful Indian films, I don't recommend watching this film because you won't find any joy in it. But if you want to learn a little about the culture and myths that exist in the community there, this film can give you a little clue.

I actually didn't plan on watching this film because the first installment in the franchise didn't have a compelling story. But I was pleasantly surprised by its opening—in India, it was huge. That means it's in high demand. So I tried my luck, maybe it would provide some contemplation or something good. I watched it with my friend, and we're only really good at discussing Indian films. LOL.

Dhadak 2

Dhadak tells the story of Neelesh, born into a low-caste family and constantly looked down upon by those who claim to be of a higher caste. Neelesh is a bright young man. He is accepted into a renowned university for his intelligence. He attends a prestigious law school in India, where he tries to hide his last name so he won't be recognized as a low-caste person. However, people soon discover that Neelesh is of a low caste.

At college, he meets Vidhi, who helps him learn English. Neelesh is often teased for his inability to speak English fluently, so he is helped by Vidhi, a classmate who cares deeply for him and is unaffected by Neelesh's caste.

As they grow closer, Neelesh and Vidhi share stories. From there, they grow closer, but unfortunately, Vidhi's family dislikes Neelesh's low-caste background. Her cousins constantly harass Neelesh because they don't like Vidhi being around him. Neelesh gets into a lot of trouble and is constantly bullied because of his social status. But Vidhi is a brave woman, she dares to defend Neelesh in front of her family who feels superior.

A simple film about a big issue

First of all, I want to commend this film for its lack of unnecessary glamour. It has a good premise. In my country, there's no such caste issue, so when scene after scene deals with it, I find it a bit overdone. But caste issues have been around for hundreds of years in India, so it's very interesting. It's important to understand that all people on this earth are equal, and no one deserves special treatment. Whether they're officials, religious scholars, the rich, or those who claim to be of high caste, everyone is equal. Only civilized people deserve respect, and even then, it shouldn't be exaggerated.

The filmmakers chose the right cast, both Shidarth Chaturvedi, Tripti Dimrii, and the supporting cast, all played very well. You could say this film does not star A-class actors, but that's what made me interested in watching this film. The main actors have competent acting qualities so I have no doubts even though this couple is not my favorite actor. Then, the writer did not add vulgar scenes, that's a plus for me. Usually films with the theme of forbidden love like Romeo and Juliet have vulgar scenes that make me uncomfortable, but this film does not have them so I prefer this film compared to the first franchise.

After watching this film, I couldn't help but think that if it didn't have a title related to the original franchise, it would have been better. It tells a true story about the local community and concludes with a sobering ending: that love will triumph.

I rate this film 3 out of 5 stars; Better Than Before!!!

Thanks for read my sincere review. See you in next review.
