Hi Movie lovers...
What movie do you watch nowadays?

Recently, my coworkers and I watched actor Reza Rahadian's debut film together. He's one of the best actors currently transitioning into the director's chair, and his first film is titled Pangku—Lay on Your Lap. This film has a festival feel and has won several awards at the Busan Film Festival in South Korea. As fans, we were very proud, so we went to the cinema after our work was done.

Pangku

Pangku tells the story of a young pregnant woman who wanders from place to place looking for work. She doesn't know why she's alone in the midst of her pregnancy. She then stops by a coffee shop run by Mrs. Maya. She is given a ride until she gives birth. Mrs. Maya helps take care of her son and considers her family. For that, Sartika then repays Mrs. Maya by helping sell at her coffee shop. Uniquely, when selling coffee, Sartika doesn't serve it in the conventional way. She will serve coffee while the customer holds it. Yes, on the lap. This is how Mrs. Maya's coffee shop gets busy again.

This film has a melancholy feel, with minimal dialogue—as it was intended for a film festival, not a commercial production. The film is set in a real-life setting, where many coffee sellers employ this unconventional method—selling coffee while sitting on their laps. Reza stated that he was inspired by a real-life incident where this practice was practiced in some areas to make ends meet. Sartika's character was inspired by her mother, a single mother. Yes, this film is about a single mother struggling to provide for her children.

Uniquely, this film is far from glamorous. My friends found it relatable, while I highly praised Reza's unique take on the theme of his debut film.

I rate this film 3 out of 5 stars; heartwarming

Hi, Halo, Annyeong, welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
