This is the official film from Netflix which was just released on December 15 yesterday. This film is titled The Big 4, which is an Indonesian action film that closes 2022 in a very good way. Usually my expectations of Indonesian action films are very bad, maybe all this time they have been influenced by foreign films, so I feel that action in Indonesian films is not that interesting. But this film is different and beyond my expectations.

So the film The Big 4 tells the story of 4 secret agents, not from institutions but agents who come from the humanist side, who fight crimes that occur. The Big 4 was initiated by a father named Petrus who has a love for children. Departing from there, Petrus also created a group, an unofficial agent to fight injustice.

The Big 4 consists of Topan, Jenggo, Alpha and Pelor. Topan is the oldest member of the Big 4 who is also Petrus's trustee, who is allowed to make decisions after Petrus.

The first scene of the film opens with the scene of an orphanage being used as a cover for illegal organ transplants. The Big 4 opens this illegal activity by killing the perpetrator. But apparently that was the last mission of Petrus, who had made a promise to his daughter, Dina, to be at home more often. Dina is Petrus' daughter who just finished his police education.

The problem started when Petrus' former foster son, Antonio Sandoval, came to Petrus on the day of Dina's inauguration. There Antonia took revenge, resulting in a shootout that eventually killed Petrus. The Topan came too late. When he came, Dina was also there so there was a misunderstanding. Dina thinks that Topan is her father's killer.

This film is an action comedy genre directed by
Timo Tjahjanto. I really like how the action in this film. Everything looks real. Even though the story is unclear, the director, together with the cast of course, managed to entertain the audience, as well as make them proud. I even said, Damn, how great this movie.

My favorite character here is Jenggo. Jenggo is played by Arie Keriting, who usually gets a few roles in other films. But in this film, he is included in one of the main roles. It proves that he can really act. I hope he gets more films with important roles.

Back to his character as Jenggo. Jenggo is described as the second brother after Typhoon. He is a long shot expert, sniper, and good at spiritual healing, and of course funny.
