Movie Time: Watching An Old Movie Vibe - Param Sundari

Hi Movie lovers...
What movie do you watch nowadays?

This film was one of my most anticipated this year because it had a vibe very similar to the old Bollywood films I love. Romantic comedy with easy listening songs, that's Param Sundari. It stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, their first time together.

I watched it with my friend because we really liked one of the songs in the film. We both wanted to see the clip in the cinema, so we went. Besides, I was sure it would be a lighthearted film that would take our minds off things.

Let's get it!

Param Sundari

Param Sundari tells the story of Param (Sidharth Malhotra), a rich kid who has had many failed businesses. In this venture, he wants to create a matchmaking app, and to get funding from his main investor—his own father, Param conducts an experiment that his matchmaking app will be successful. So he creates a profile and discovers that his soulmate—according to the app he created, is named Sundari in a part of the world called Kerala. To do so, Param travels to Kerala and meets Sundari (Janhvi Kapoor) a beautiful woman from the South..

Sundari is a beautiful and energetic young woman. She owns a guesthouse inherited from her parents. She does her work half-heartedly, as she is actually a classical dancer. She loves classical dance but is trapped in the guesthouse, eventually finding herself with a young man from the north named Param.

Param continues to court and impress Sundari in various ways. Despite their differences—between the South and the North—Sundari eventually falls for Param as time goes by.

Light Story Less Chemistry

Actually, there's another factor that makes this film even more interesting. It's Sidharth Malhotra's role. Throughout his career—because I've watched so many of his films—he's rarely portrayed cheerful characters and romantic songs like "Pardesiya," so it's interesting to see him in a new light. That's why I'm so excited to see this film.

The film received a good reception in India. Just as my friend and I had hoped, it had a lighthearted story. I didn't expect it to be funny, but it at least addressed something I disliked: unnecessary vulgarity. I liked the film because it gave the impression of a romantic film that always upholds cultural values. Indian films used to do that, but in this generation, it's hard to find entertaining films like this.

Both leads played their characters brilliantly. Sidharth and Janhvi both had strong characters. However, their chemistry was lacking. It would have been more interesting if their partners had stronger chemistry. To this day, I find Sid compatible with every actress he's worked with, except for Janhvi. They're more like brother and sister.

I rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars because I really liked the story, the way it was packaged, and also the romantic song Pardesiya.

See and watch by yourself...

Hi, Halo, Annyeong, welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.
