Ram Setu: Expedition on the Truth of Adam's Bridge

Hi Movie lovers...
What movie do you watch nowadays?

When streaming movies, do you always look for one actor's film after finishing one? I think I'm that type. I watched one film by the versatile actor Akshay Kumar on a streaming app, which then led me to his other films. This actor is truly prolific. He can release 2-3 films a year since his debut, so I have a lot of his films that I haven't seen yet. One of them is this film, Ram Setu.

When it first came out, I had no idea what it was about. Then, a recent review said it was about a bridge expedition. So when I saw the comedy film Housefull, I immediately saw this as a recommendation, so I watched it.

So, here is the story of Ram Setu…

Ram Setu

Ram Setu tells the story of an atheist archaeologist named Aaryan, who was sent to prove that Adam's Bridge (Ram Setu) connecting Sri Lanka and India was a man-made bridge, not a natural bridge. From the Ramayan story, the bridge was originally built by the army of Lord Rama to go to Lanka to rescue Goddess Sita who was kidnapped by Ravana. To prove this, Aryan with Dr. Sandra, Dr. Gabriella, conducted an investigation. But unfortunately, the investigation was not wanted by one of the associations that brought the truth of Adam's Bridge to the Supreme Court—for a mission to destroy it.

Aryan, Gabriella, and Sandra realized that the investigation was designed to frame the three of them and allow them to die so that Ram Setu could be destroyed. However, the three archaeologists were eventually rescued, aided by a Sri Lankan named A.P. The three archaeologists then became fugitives, and their pursuit ultimately led to Gabriella's death. An investigation into the truth that Ram Setu is an Indian epic, not a fictional story, will save the bridge. Therefore, the three of them continue to search for evidence to save Adam's Bridge as an Indian cultural heritage.

Based on Real Story

The story of Ram Setu itself is based on a true story in India. The story is exactly the same, where an archaeologist named Aryan investigates the truth of Ram Setu and the Ramayana. The film is initially quite boring, but becomes interesting when Aryan discovers a pumice stone—believed to be the main foundation of Ram Setu. From there, the film becomes interesting. The three main characters are chased by the opposition and time as demands for Ram Setu's destruction continue to mount. If they don't arrive in time, Ram Setu will soon be obliterated.

Honestly, I have to commend Indian films for their diverse themes, not just romantic stories, but also historical ones. Who would have thought that even some people in India doubt the epic Ramayana. Some consider it fiction, and others consider it part of their history. I, who only know the Ramayana story, even believe that it is part of their history, and I never thought that anyone would doubt its authenticity. What's more interesting is that this bridge is very unique. While watching, I even opened a map and saw the bridge and became interested in visiting it. It's truly random.

I have to commend all the actors here, they played their respective roles well. The storyline was quite good. And the horrific scenes with Aryan's colleagues dying one by one were truly a shame. My favorite character here was A.P., the happy virus who holds a million mysteries.

I rate this film 4 out of 5 stars; Entertainment...
