Volviendo al cine luego de años/ Return to the cinema after years

Hola mi amada y apreciada comunidad de HIVE-MARGARITA, ¿cómo han estado? ¿Cómo han pasado sus días? Yo, pues muy bien, aquí aguantando el calor que me brinda este lado de la isla.

El día de hoy quería contarles acerca de una experiencia que me trajo mucha nostalgia y alegría y es el hecho de volver al cine luego de muchos años. Cines Unidos, la cadena de cine más conocida en Venezuela es el cine al que he ido toda mi vida desde que tengo memoria, la sucursal de la isla de Margarita se encuentra en el C.C Sambil y es también uno de los más importantes en la isla.

Hasta donde sé, además de Cines Unidos, hay otro cine en la isla, y ese es el Cinex de C.C Parque Costa Azul, pero a comparación con Cines Unidos, jamás he llegado a pisar el cine de ese centro comercial. Así que no sé cómo es, qué calidad tiene o alguna otra cosa de esa índole.

Por otro lado, en mi infancia cada vez que había un estreno de una peli que mis hermanas y yo queríamos ver, íbamos a Cines Unidos a ver la película, y veíamos de todo: Linterna Verde, Harry Potter y el príncipe mestizo, Turbo, Grandes Héroes, Sherk, La Cenicienta y muchas otras películas más.

La cuestión aquí y la razón de mi publicación es el hecho de que pase de ser una persona que iba casi siempre al cine a una que dejó de hacerlo totalmente ¿y por qué eso VK? Se preguntarán, pues simplemente la situación económica en Venezuela no nos permitió salir más de la manera que lo hacíamos y nos tuvimos que limitar a conformarnos a hacer muchas cosas de antes, entre eso ir al cine, pase de ver películas de estreno a esperar tiempo a que las paginas piratas publicaran una versión decente de la película que tanto quería ver.

Recuerdo que la última vez que vi una película con toda mi familia fue el estreno de Moana en el 2016, y la última vez que fui al cine fue por un regalo de cumpleaños que mi madrina (que en paz descanse) nos regaló a mi hermana @marimar197 y a mí y vimos la película de Spiderman lejos de casa en el año 2019 y de ahí no volvimos a pisar una sala de cine.

Cuando se estrenó la película de Avatar 2: El Camino del Agua, juro que le rogué a mi mamá para ir ya que había esperado como 10 años o más por el estreno de una segunda edición de esa saga, era una de mis favoritas, pero o era pagar la universidad y mi pasaje del bus o ir a ver la película, así que por obvias razones no terminamos viéndola.

Así que por todas esas razones económicas me prometí a mí misma que si tuviera la oportunidad de tener el dinero iría al cine a ver una película que yo quería, y eso hice. Luego de 6 años de ver mi última película en el cine, pude al fin tener dinero para ver una de mis películas favoritas en toda mi vida, una película que llevaba esperando desde que anunciaron que la harían y esa es el Live Action de Como Entrenar a Tu Dragón.

Descargué la aplicación de Cines Unidos, reuní el dinero, compré las entradas online y junto con mi mamá, mi tía @nvh2911 y su hijo fuimos al cine luego de años, estaba muy emocionada y nerviosa, Cines Unidos y su decoración no habían cambiado para nada seguía tan frío y a la vez acogedor como siempre con su decoración debajo el mar. En la entrada había una escultura de globos de dragones por la película que íbamos a ver.

Llegamos al cine y escanearon el código QR que tenía en la app de mi teléfono para saber cuáles eran mis entradas y asientos, nos dejaron pasar y entramos a la sala, ya que somos de muy lejos y no habíamos comido, por ir a almorzar a pollos Arturos llegamos como 10 minutos tarde a la película, pero eso no nos importó. Eso sí, me impresionó cómo estaba la sala de cine cuando entramos ya que junto a nosotros 4, éramos 11 personas en una sala de cine. Jamás en mi vida pensé que vería una sala de cine así de vacía.

Pero como no le presté mucha atención, yo solo me disfruté mi película, lloré y me divertí al revivir viejos recuerdos de la infancia junto a mi familia, ahora solo espero el estreno de la tercera película de Avatar para poder volver a ir ya que no pude ir a ver los conciertos de BTS en la pantalla grande, ojalá y esta vez tenga suerte….

Hello, my beloved and cherished HIVE-MARGARITA community, how have you been? How have your days been? I've been doing very well, enduring the heat on this side of the island.

Today I wanted to tell you about an experience that brought me a lot of nostalgia and joy, which is going back to the movies after many years. Cines Unidos, the best-known movie theater chain in Venezuela, is the theater I have been going to my whole life for as long as I can remember. The branch on Margarita Island is located in the Sambil Shopping Center and is also one of the most important theaters on the island.

As far as I know, besides Cines Unidos, there is another cinema on the island, which is Cinex in the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, but compared to Cines Unidos, I have never set foot in the cinema in that shopping center. So I don't know what it's like, what the quality is like, or anything else of that nature.

On the other hand, when I was a kid, every time there was a movie premiere that my sisters and I wanted to see, we would go to Cines Unidos to watch it, and we saw everything: Green Lantern, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Turbo, Big Heroes, Shrek, Cinderella, and many other movies.

The point here and the reason for my post is the fact that I went from being someone who went to the movies almost all the time to someone who stopped going altogether. Why is that, VK? You may ask. Well, simply put, the economic situation in Venezuela did not allow us to go out as much as we used to, and we had to settle for doing many of the things we used to do, including going to the movies. I went from seeing new releases to waiting for pirate websites to publish a decent version of the movie I wanted to see so badly.

I remember that the last time I saw a movie with my whole family was the premiere of Moana in 2016, and the last time I went to the movies was for a birthday gift that my godmother (may she rest in peace) gave my sister @marimar197 and me. We saw the movie Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019, and we haven't set foot in a movie theater since.

When Avatar 2: The Way of Water was released, I swear I begged my mom to go because I had waited like 10 years or more for the release of the second installment of that saga, which was one of my favorites, but it was either pay for college and my bus ticket or go see the movie, so for obvious reasons we didn't end up seeing it.

So, for all those financial reasons, I promised myself that if I ever had the chance to have the money, I would go to the movies to see a film I wanted to see, and that's what I did. After six years since seeing my last movie in the theater, I finally had the money to see one of my all-time favorite movies, a movie I had been waiting for since they announced they were making it, and that is the live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon.

I downloaded the Cines Unidos app, gathered the money, bought the tickets online, and together with my mom, my aunt @nvh2911, and her son, we went to the movies after years. I was very excited and nervous. Cines Unidos and its decor hadn't changed at all; it was still as cold and cozy as ever with its underwater decor. At the entrance, there was a sculpture made of dragon balloons for the movie we were going to see.

We arrived at the cinema and they scanned the QR code on my phone app to find out which tickets and seats we had. They let us in and we entered the theater. Since we live far away and hadn't eaten, we went to Pollos Arturos for lunch and arrived about 10 minutes late to the movie, but we didn't care. I was impressed by how empty the theater was when we entered, as there were only 11 people in the theater besides the four of us. I never thought I would see a theater so empty in my life.

But I didn't pay much attention to it. I just enjoyed my movie, cried, and had fun reliving old childhood memories with my family. Now I'm just waiting for the premiere of the third Avatar movie so I can go back, since I couldn't go see the BTS concerts on the big screen. Hopefully, I'll be lucky this time...
