Science Fiction Villains

I have read several reviews about villains and I find it strange that most have decided to choose conventional and massive characters as is the genre of comics, there is a large set of villains who are not usually immersed in commercial cinema, but by themselves have become legend. Especially because within the science fiction genre we can find most of the villains remembered over the years, I hope my selection serves to vindicate some villains that have gone unnoticed.

Villanos de Ciencia Ficción

He leído varias reseñas sobre villanos y me parece extraño que la mayoría haya decidido elegir personajes convencionales y masivos como lo es el género de los comics, existe un amplio conjunto de villanos que no suelen estar inmersos en el cine comercial, pero por si mismos se han convertido en leyenda. Sobre todo, porque dentro del género de ciencia ficción podemos encontrar la mayoría de los villanos recordado a través de los años, espero que mi selección sirva para reivindicar algunos villanos que han pasado desapercibidos.

Hal 9000 - 2001 space odyssey

Within the science fiction genre we can find Hal, an atypical villain in the first place for being a supercomputer which contains the most advanced artificial intelligence, but it is not only that he can control the computer elements, the problem lies in that he wants to kill all humans in space for considering them a threat. Hal broke the stereotypes of his time, for the first time the cinema presented us with a computer villain, the rebellion of the machines has begun and with it a theme that has been exploited thousands of times.

Dentro del género de ciencia ficción podemos encontrar a Hal, un villano atípico en primer lugar por ser un supercomputador el cual contiene la inteligencia artificial más avanzada, pero no se trata solo de que pueda controlar los elementos informáticos, el problema radica en que desea asesinar a todos los humanos en el espacio por considerarlos una amenaza. Hal rompió los estereotipos de su época, por vez primera el cine nos presentaba un villano informático, la rebelión de las maquinas ha comenzado y con ello una temática que se ha explotado miles de veces.

The Terminator - I'll be back

If we talk about villains because I have not seen the Terminator in the reviews, what more dangerous than a killing machine capable of camouflage, sweat, have bad breath and above all with advanced intelligence that makes it the perfect killer, able to carry out his orders without question. The Terminator cannot go unnoticed in the world of cinema first of all because of its presence, its determination and Arnold's convincing performance on the screen. The Terminator managed to scare its viewers, but it also created a legion of fans who, despite being more than 40 years old, may think that the saga should be vindicated, renewed or just have a film with a worthy ending.

¿Si hablamos de villanos porque no he visto a Terminator en las reseñas?, que más peligroso que una maquina asesina capaz de camuflarse, sudar, tener mal aliento y sobre todo con inteligencia avanzada que lo convierte en el asesino perfecto, capaz de cumplir sus órdenes y sin cuestionar. Terminator no puede pasar desapercibido en el mundo del cine en primer lugar por su presencia, su determinación y por la actuación tan convincente de Arnold en la pantalla. The Terminator logro asustar a sus espectadores, pero también creo una legión de fans que aun a pesar de tener más de 40 años pueden pensar que la saga debe reivindicarse, renovarse o tan solo tener una película con un final digno.

Alien the Eighth Passenger

Seriously no one has mentioned Alien, holy god it's perfect, all fighting in outer space against a creature that spits acid, is stronger, faster and has the ability to learn on the fly. The science fiction genre has given us great villains that have become part of popular culture so we should not underestimate them. Although today it is almost a cliché the space monster that threatens the human race, Alien was the innovation of science fiction films linked to the horror genre, from there science fiction films have never been the same.

En serio nadie ha mencionado a Alíen, santo dios es perfecto, todos luchando en el espacio exterior contra una criatura que escupe acido, es más fuerte, veloz y tiene la capacidad de aprender sobre la marcha. El género de ciencia ficción nos ha dotado de grandes villanos que se han vuelto parte de la cultura popular por ende no debemos menospreciarlos. Aunque hoy en día es casi un cliché el monstruo del espacio que amenaza la raza humana, Alíen fue la innovación del cine de ciencia ficción ligado al género del terror, desde allí las películas de ciencia ficción nunca volvieron a ser las mismas.

What genre of movies do you enjoy?

Today I would like to recommend one of the most captivating films I have seen in recent years that can lead us to reflect on our role as parents and even the pain of our children, at least these are the two themes on which Rudderless focuses.

¿Qué genero de películas disfruto?

Muchísimos, sin embargo, hay uno en particular al cual vuelvo sin querer, son las películas de corte Indie y sobre todo porque es un cine inteligente, tienen el propósito de invitar a reflexionar sobre la vida misma, los problemas existenciales incluso del dolor humano que podemos padecer día tras día. El cine indie no suele exponerse en grandes cines, por el contrario, debes buscarlo con pinzas, ya sean los documentales como free solo o películas como Rudderless son un ejemplo de como a pesar de estar vivos en ocasiones podemos carecer de alegría o motivaciones intrínsecas que nos lleven a avanzar. Al día de hoy desearía recomendar una de las películas más cautivadora que he visto en los últimos años y que nos puede llevar a reflexionar sobre nuestro roll de padres e incluso el dolor de nuestros hijos, al menos son los dos temas en los cuales se enfoca Rudderless.
