Hoy les traigo una película que me gustó mucho tanto en contenido como en la animación y los dibujos.

RESUMEN DE LA PELÍCULA

Esta historia comienza con Lewis, un chico de 12 años que desde bebé fue dado en adopción y que, hasta esa edad, aún no había encontrado una familia.

Él llevaba la cuenta de cuántas entrevistas había tenido con posibles padres adoptivos y ya iban alrededor de 124, pero siempre terminaban rechazándolo. Lo más triste era que no era un niño problemático; al contrario, era extremadamente inteligente y le apasionaba inventar cosas.

En una de esas entrevistas intentó mostrar su último invento, una tostadora que preparaba mantequilla de maní y mermelada. Sin embargo, el experimento salió mal y terminó ensuciando a todos los presentes, provocando que la familia se marchara muy molesta. Lewis quedó muy frustrado, convencido de que jamás encontraría un hogar.

Su mejor amigo del orfanato, Goob, le dio una idea que despertó su curiosidad: crear una máquina que permitiera recuperar recuerdos para poder ver a su madre biológica y descubrir quién era. Lewis dedicó días y noches a construir ese invento y finalmente logró terminar un primer modelo para presentarlo en la feria de ciencias de su escuela.

El día de la presentación ocurrió algo inesperado. Un extraño muchacho llamado Wilbur comenzó a seguirlo y le advirtió que tuviera cuidado con un misterioso hombre del sombrero. Justo cuando Lewis mostró su invento ante el jurado, este explotó y arruinó toda la demostración. Desanimado, regresó al orfanato pensando que había vuelto a fracasar.

Allí apareció nuevamente Wilbur y le reveló algo increíble: venía del futuro. Le explicó que su invento sería muy importante para la humanidad y que debía impedir que el hombre del sombrero cambiara el destino. Aunque al principio Lewis no le creyó, terminó viajando con él al año 2037.

Al llegar al futuro, Lewis quedó maravillado con toda la tecnología que existía. Sin embargo, mientras intentaban regresar, dañaron la máquina del tiempo y tuvieron que ir a la casa de Wilbur para repararla. Allí Lewis conoció a toda la familia Robinson, una familia muy peculiar, alegre y llena de inventores.

Ellos le explicaron que equivocarse era parte del proceso y que cada fracaso los acercaba un poco más al éxito. Ese momento cambió por completo la forma de pensar de Lewis.

Poco después apareció nuevamente el hombre del sombrero intentando capturarlo. Fue entonces cuando comenzaron a revelarse muchos secretos. Lewis descubrió que Wilbur le había ocultado varias cosas, entre ellas que no podría llevarlo a conocer a su madre como le había prometido.

El hombre del sombrero aprovechó ese momento para ganarse la confianza de Lewis y convencerlo de reparar la máquina de memoria. Finalmente se descubrió la verdad: aquel hombre era Goob, su antiguo compañero del orfanato. Después de perder un importante partido de béisbol, Goob culpó a Lewis de todas sus desgracias y creció lleno de resentimiento, buscando vengarse de él.

Lewis comprendió que Goob había decidido vivir atrapado en el pasado y en el rencor. En cambio, él decidió perdonarlo y seguir adelante. Gracias a eso lograron detener el futuro en el que los robots dominarían el mundo y evitaron que la historia cambiara para siempre.

En medio de toda esa aventura, Lewis también descubrió la verdad más sorprendente de todas: la familia Robinson era, en realidad, su propia familia del futuro. Wilbur era su hijo y él mismo se convertiría en el gran inventor Cornelius Robinson.

OPINIÓN PERSONAL SOBRE LA PELÍCULA

Esta es una de mis películas favoritas porque te enseña cosas muy bonitas.

Primero vemos cómo es la realidad de los orfanatos, hay niños que se quedan por varios años encerrados ahí sin que nadie los quiera adoptar, hasta que ya son grandes y deben salir y ser responsables por ellos mismos.

Es muy cruda la realidad, pero creo que esta película nos enseña a no rendirnos, puede que sea el intento número 125 y que esta vez sí te vaya a funciona, pero siempre cambiando de estrategia. Si algo no funciona, prueba una diferente hasta llegar a la meta.

Otra cosa que me pareció interesante fue que, a veces, sentimos que no encajamos en ningún lugar y que nos tratan como si fuéramos raros, pero no es así, siempre habrá un lugar para cada persona. Como le ocurrió al protagonista, él era muy inteligente, pero no lograba conectar con los posibles padres porque ellos tenían una forma distinta de ver las cosas.

Hasta que aparecieron los padres perfectos para él: dos inventores que apoyaron su creatividad y lo impulsaron a desarrollar todo su potencial.

Algo que también me enseñó es que a veces echamos la culpa a todos por las cosas que nos pasan cuando lo importante no debería ser eso sino saber cómo resolverlo. Estamos tan preocupados por encontrar culpables de nuestros problemas que olvidamos asumir nuestra propia responsabilidad.

Preferimos estar estancados y recurrir a salidas fáciles, echar la culpa, tomar venganza y no salir de nuestra zona de confort. Como le pasó a Goob, quien culpó a su amigo por todo lo que había vivido desde su niñez.

Lo ideal es no centrarnos en los problemas, sino en las soluciones, pensar cómo podemos resolverlos, pedir ayudar si la necesitamos y si es algo que no tiene solución también comprender que no está en nuestras manos. Fallar no es algo mal, todo lo contrario, nos está acercando cada vez más al éxito.

Y por último y creo que lo más importante, a veces nos toca vivir terribles momentos en nuestra vida, muertes, separaciones, mudanzas, etc. Son momentos en los que creemos que todo está perdido, pero es ahí donde debemos recordar lo linda que es la vida, tu familia, tus amigos y todo lo que tienes.

Son esas pequeñas cosas las que hacen que la vida valga la pena. En el caso de Lewis, si bien su mamá lo había abandonado, él creía que la última solución a sus problemas era conocerla y buscarla. Pero resulta que tenía que esperar un poquito más para conocer a su familia.

No se sabe qué habrá pasado con su madre biológica, pero yo creo que ella quería lo mejor para su hijo y posiblemente ella no podía dárselo.

Creo que, si hubiera visto desde un principio a su madre, hubiera pasado toda su vida buscándola y quizá ella ya no estaría viva, o lo rechazaría y su sufrimiento sería aún peor.

Tuvo que pasar por muchos obstáculos para finalmente encontrar la felicidad, a veces suele pasar eso, vienen momentos terribles, pero estoy segura de que un día volverás a ver salir el sol, porque los días solo duran 24 horas y al día siguiente tendrás una nueva oportunidad para volver a empezar.

Al final entendí que esta película no habla solo de inventos o viajes en el tiempo. Habla de seguir adelante, de aprender de los errores y de confiar en que, aunque hoy las cosas no salgan como esperamos, la vida puede sorprendernos con un futuro mucho mejor.

Tiene de todo, partes chistosas, partes tristes y partes que te hacen pensar y reflexionar sobre tu vida. Se los recomiendo mucho para ver en familia.

Today I’m sharing a movie that I really liked—both for its story and for its animation and artwork.

MOVIE SUMMARY

This story begins with Lewis, a 12-year-old boy who was given up for adoption as a baby and, up until that age, had not yet found a family.

He kept track of how many interviews he’d had with potential adoptive parents—around 124 by then—but they always ended up rejecting him. The saddest part was that he wasn’t a troubled child; on the contrary, he was extremely intelligent and passionate about inventing things.

During one of those interviews, he tried to show off his latest invention—a toaster that made peanut butter and jelly. However, the experiment went wrong and ended up getting everyone there covered in mess, causing the family to leave very upset. Lewis was deeply frustrated, convinced he would never find a home.

His best friend from the orphanage, Goob, gave him an idea that piqued his curiosity: to build a machine that would allow him to retrieve memories so he could see his biological mother and find out who she was. Lewis spent days and nights building this invention and finally managed to complete a first prototype to present at his school’s science fair.

On the day of the presentation, something unexpected happened. A strange boy named Wilbur started following him and warned him to be careful of a mysterious man in a hat. Just as Lewis was showing his invention to the judges, it exploded and ruined the entire demonstration. Disheartened, he returned to the orphanage, thinking he had failed again.

There, Wilbur appeared again and revealed something incredible: he had come from the future. He explained that Lewis’s invention would be very important for humanity and that Lewis had to prevent the man in the hat from changing the course of history. Although Lewis didn’t believe him at first, he ended up traveling with him to the year 2037.

Upon arriving in the future, Lewis was amazed by all the technology that existed. However, while trying to return, they damaged the time machine and had to go to Wilbur’s house to fix it. There, Lewis met the entire Robinson family—a very peculiar, cheerful family full of inventors.

During dinner, something happened that would have a profound impact on Lewis. He was asked to fix a machine that looked very much like the toaster he himself had invented. As he tried to repair it, it malfunctioned again and ended up covering everyone in butter and jam.

Lewis expected everyone to get upset, but the exact opposite happened: the whole family began to clap and celebrate the mistake. They explained to him that making mistakes was part of the process and that every failure brought them a little closer to success. That moment completely changed Lewis’s way of thinking.

Shortly afterward, the man in the hat appeared again, trying to capture him. That’s when many secrets began to come to light. Lewis discovered that Wilbur had kept several things from him, including the fact that he wouldn’t be able to take him to meet his mother as he had promised.

The man in the hat took advantage of that moment to gain Lewis’s trust and convince him to repair the memory machine. Finally, the truth came out: that man was Goob, his former classmate from the orphanage. After losing an important baseball game, Goob blamed Lewis for all his misfortunes and grew up full of resentment, seeking revenge against him.

Lewis realized that Goob had chosen to remain trapped in the past and in bitterness. Instead, he decided to forgive him and move on. Thanks to that, they managed to stop the future in which robots would take over the world and prevented history from changing forever.

In the midst of all that adventure, Lewis also discovered the most surprising truth of all: the Robinson family was, in fact, his own family from the future. Wilbur was his son, and he himself would become the great inventor Cornelius Robinson.

Before returning to the present, Wilbur kept his promise to take him to see his biological mother. However, after everything he’d been through, Lewis made an unexpected decision. He realized he no longer needed to search for answers in the past because he’d discovered that, at some point in his life, he would have the family he’d always dreamed of.

Upon returning to the science fair, he decided to try one more time. This time, he remembered everything he had learned and also helped Goob avoid making the mistake that would change his future.

PERSONAL OPINION ON THE MOVIE

This is one of my favorite movies because it teaches you some really beautiful things.

First, we see what life is really like in orphanages—there are children who spend several years locked away there with no one willing to adopt them, until they’re grown up and have to leave and take responsibility for themselves.

The reality is very harsh, but I think this movie teaches us not to give up. It might be your 125th try, and this time it might actually work out—but you always have to keep changing your strategy. If something doesn’t work, try something different until you reach your goal.

Another thing I found interesting was that sometimes we feel like we don’t fit in anywhere and that people treat us as if we were weird, but that’s not true—there will always be a place for everyone. Just like what happened to the main character: he was very smart, but he couldn’t connect with potential parents because they had a different way of seeing things.

Until the perfect parents for him came along: two inventors who supported his creativity and encouraged him to reach his full potential.

Something else it taught me is that sometimes we blame everyone else for the things that happen to us, when what really matters isn’t that—it’s knowing how to solve the problem. We’re so preoccupied with finding someone to blame for our problems that we forget to take responsibility for ourselves.

We’d rather stay stuck and resort to easy ways out—blaming others, seeking revenge, and never stepping outside our comfort zone. Just like Goob, who blamed his friend for everything he’d been through since childhood.

Ideally, we shouldn’t focus on the problems, but on the solutions—thinking about how we can solve them, asking for help if we need it, and if something has no solution, understanding that it’s beyond our control. Failing isn’t a bad thing; on the contrary, it brings us closer and closer to success.

And finally—and I think most importantly—sometimes we have to go through terrible moments in our lives: deaths, breakups, moving, and so on. These are moments when we feel like everything is lost, but that’s when we must remember how beautiful life is—your family, your friends, and everything you have.

It’s those little things that make life worth living. In Lewis’s case, even though his mother had abandoned him, he believed that the ultimate solution to his problems was to meet her and search for her. But it turns out he had to wait a little longer to meet his family.

We don’t know what happened to his biological mother, but I think she wanted the best for his son and perhaps she couldn’t provide it for him.

I think that if he had met his mother right from the start, he would have spent his whole life searching for her, and maybe she wouldn’t be alive anymore—or she might have rejected him, and his suffering would have been even worse.

He had to overcome many obstacles to finally find happiness; that’s often how it goes—there are terrible moments, but I’m sure that one day you’ll see the sun rise again, because days only last 24 hours, and the next day you’ll have a new chance to start over.

In the end, I realized that this movie isn’t just about inventions or time travel. It’s about moving forward, learning from mistakes, and trusting that even if things don’t go as we hope today, life can surprise us with a much better future.

This movie has it all: funny parts, sad parts, and parts that make you think and reflect on your own life. I highly recommend it as a family movie.
