Cine TV Contest # 138 - Favorite Sitcom: FRIENDS [ENG/ESP]

Hello friends, it feels great to be in this community which is one of my favorites, because I am a great movie lover, and especially this week's topic I love it because I grew up watching sitcoms and that's what I like to watch the most. Honestly, the part of choosing a favorite is a little complicated, because there are so many that are so good and funny, the ones I would watch and have watched more than once and make me laugh like the first time, although there is a show that has accompanied me all my life and without a doubt will always have the number 1 in my heart.

Before talking about this show I would like to share with you my Top 5 of what I consider the best sitcoms ever.

Without a doubt I have grown up with these shows and I love them all, I feel that if I had more free time I would watch them again and again. However, my relationship with Friends is too special, it's that show that I like to watch when I'm having a bad day, or even when I'm feeling good, because I feel it's a great emotional support.

From the first season you get hooked on the lives of those six friends and you just want to be one of the group. First let's talk about how funny it is, as it is a comedy show at its core. Friends has some very funny scenes that always make me laugh, no matter how many times I've seen them, and even though it's a show that has six main characters, each one has something unique and special, and a gift for comedy that is exceptional. Besides the physical comedy that is very characteristic of the show, we also have Chandler's sarcasm, Phoebe's incoherence, Joey's nonsense, Monica's competitive side, Ross's nerdiness and Rachel's crazy love, which makes it a super entertaining show all the time, because there is no time to get bored.

In addition to all that, the supporting characters, whether recurring in the show or even short appearances of other famous actors only improve the quality of the show. Here I can't fail to mention Janice, with her very peculiar laugh and her "Oh my God!" and other actors like Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller or Julia Roberts, who even though they were only in one episode left a great impression.

Apart from all the good comedy that Friends has, something that makes it even better is its dramatic scenes, because throughout 10 seasons we see how these characters evolve and leave us great life lessons. I laugh a lot when I watch the series, but I also get emotional and cry. It is a very complete show that knows how to deal with themes such as love, friendship, loss, betrayal, family relationships, among other things.

Another thing I really liked was the way the show deals with the subject of pregnancy, as we are presented with its various facets. On the one hand we have Rachel, who becomes a single mother, although always with the support of Ross, we also have Phoebe, who becomes a surrogate mother for her brother Frank who could not have children with his wife, and on the other hand there is Monica, who has to opt for adoption. These are very sensitive issues that are presented in the show very naturally and in a very special way.

Among my favorite scenes are the one with Ross's leather pants, the quiz, Chandler and Monica's marriage proposal and Phoebe's songs 😂.

The beautiful thing about this show is its great impact, not only in my life, but in the whole world, because until today the show is still changing people's lives and reaching even the newest generations. I think that its themes are still very relevant today and that is why it is a beloved series. Even in my day to day life I am always making references to the series and will definitely one day show it to my future children 😊.

This series will always be my all time favorite, the one that taught me to love sitcoms and fall in love with American culture, besides improving my English a lot and teaching me to value friendship a lot.

Anyway, the truth is that I could be here writing about Friends for hours, when I find someone to talk about the show with I get very excited and together we start to remember the scenes and laugh. Before I go I would like to make some special mentions to other sitcoms a little bit older that were also very good in their time and still are today. Shows like Seinfeld, Malcolm in the middle, Those 70's shows and Alf, which I also grew up with and made me love this kind of series.

Hola amigos, que bien se siente estar por esta comunidad que es de mis favoritas, pues soy una gran amante del cine, y sobre todo el tema de esta semana me encanta pues crecí viendo sitcoms y es lo que más me gusta ver. Sinceramente, la parte de elegir un favorito está algo complicada, pues hay tantos que son tan buenos y cómicos, los que vería y he visto más de una vez y me hacen reír como la primera vez, aunque hay un show que me ha acompañado toda la vida y sin dudas siempre tendrá el número 1 en mi corazón.

Antes de hablar de este show me gustaría compartirles mi Top 5 de los que considero los mejores sitcoms.

Sin dudas he crecido con estos shows y los amo a todos, siento que si tuviera más tiempo libre los volvería a ver una y otra vez. Sin embargo, mi relación con Friends es demasiado especial, es ese show que me gusta ver cuando tengo un mal día, o incluso cuando me siento bien, pues siento que es un gran apoyo emocional.

Desde la primera temporada te engancha la vida de esos seis amigos y solo quieres ser uno más del grupo. Primeramente hablemos de lo divertido que es, pues es un show de comedia en su núcleo. Friends tiene unas escenas muy divertidas que siempre me hacen reír, no importa la cantidad de veces que las haya visto, y aunque es un show que tiene seis protagonistas, cada uno tiene algo único y especial, y un don para la comedia excepcional. Además de la comedia física que es muy característica del show, también tenemos el sarcasmo de Chandler, las incoherencias de Phoebe, las tonterías de Joey, el lado competitivo de Mónica, lo nerd de Ross y las locuras de Rachel por amor, lo que lo hace un show super entretenido todo el tiempo, pues no hay momento para aburrirse.

En adición a todo eso, los personajes secundarios, ya sean recurrentes en el show o incluso apariciones cortas de otros actores famosos solo mejoran la calidad del show. Ahí no puedo dejar de mencionar a Janice, con su risa muy peculiar y sus "Oh my God!" y a otros actores como Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller o Julia Roberts, que aunque solo estuvieron en un capítulo dejaron una gran impresión.

Aparte de toda la buena comedia que posee Friends, algo que lo hace mejor todavía son sus escenas dramáticas, pues a lo largo de 10 temporadas vemos como estos personajes van evolucionando y dejándonos grandes enseñanzas de vida. Me rio mucho al ver la serie, pero también me emociono y lloro. Es un show demasiado completo que sabe lidiar con temas como el amor, la amistad, la pérdida, la traición, las relaciones familiares, entre otras cosas.

Otra cosa que me gustó mucho fue como tocan el tema del embarazo, pues nos presentan sus varias facetas. Por un lado tenemos a Rachel, que se convierte en madre soltera, aunque siempre con el apoyo de Ross, también tenemos a Phoebe, la cual hace de madre sustituta para su hermano Frank que no podía tener hijos con su esposa, y por otro lado está Mónica, que tiene que optar por la adopción. Son temas muy sensibles que se presentan en el show con mucha naturalidad y de una manera muy especial.

Entre mis escenas favoritas están la de los pantalones de cuero de Ross, el quiz, la propuesta de matrimonio de Chandler y Mónica y las canciones de Phoebe 😂.

Lo bonito de este show es su gran impacto, no solo en mi vida, sino en el mundo entero, pues hasta hoy el show sigue cambiando la vida de las personas y llegando hasta las generaciones más nuevas. Pienso que sus temas siguen muy vigentes en la actualidad y es por eso que es una serie muy amada. Incluso en mi día a día siempre estoy haciendo referencias a la serie y definitivamente algún día se la mostraré a mis futuros hijos 😊.

Esta serie siempre será mi preferida de todos los tiempos, la que me enseñó a amar los sitcoms y enamorarme de la cultura americana, además de mejorar mucho mi inglés y enseñarme a valorar mucho la amistad.

En fin, la verdad es que pudiera estar aquí escribiendo sobre Friends durante horas, cuando encuentro a alguien con quien conversar sobre el show me emociono mucho y juntos empezamos a recordar las escenas y a reírnos. Antes de irme quisiera hacer unas menciones especiales a otros sitcoms un poco más antiguos que también fueron muy buenos en su momento y hoy en día lo siguen siendo. Shows como Seinfeld, Malcom el del medio, Aquellos shows de los 70 y Alf, con lo que también crecí y me hicieron amar este tipo de series.
