Llegando a finales de los años 80 y principios de los 90, se conformo un equipo que haría historia en la NBA, una plantilla que siempre será recordada por el impacto que causo en la liga y por una de sus mayores figuras como lo era Isaiah Thomas. Por el gran juego físico que implementaron dentro de la cancha, los fanáticos, medios de comunicación y todo el mundo del baloncesto los apodaron los "Bad Boys".

In the late 80's and early 90's, a team that would make history in the NBA was formed, a squad that will always be remembered for the impact it had on the league and for one of its greatest figures, Isaiah Thomas. Because of the great physical play they implemented on the court, fans, media and the whole basketball world nicknamed them the "Bad Boys".

Pues si, estaban dispuestos hacer cualquier cosa para ganar, la meta era obtener el anillo de campeón y no se iban a detener hasta conseguirlo. Los jugadores que conformaban la plantilla, poseían un carácter muy fuerte, algunos decían que eran matones, por la manera tan dura con que jugaban al baloncesto. El documental describe de manera cronológica los mejores años del equipo y la caída que posteriormente tuvieron.

Yes, they were willing to do anything to win, the goal was to get the championship ring and they were not going to stop until they got it. The players that made up the team had a very strong character, some said they were bullies, because of the tough way they played basketball. The documentary describes chronologically the best years of the team and the subsequent fall they had.

Detroit Pistons, un equipo con poca gloria, comenzó su dinastía cuando firmaron al gerente general, Jack McCloskey, hombre que se encargaría de conseguir las piezas perfectas para encajar un rompecabezas perfecto. La tarea no sería sencilla, tampoco iba a ser muy rápida, pero con tiempo y buena visión conseguiría a los soldados correctos para iniciar un buen plan de batalla y ganar la guerra contra equipos dominantes como, Boston Celtics y Ángeles Lakers.

Cada nuevo integrante del equipo se acomodaba a lo que deseaba el entrenador y a lo que estaba buscando la franquicia. Querían tener una identidad dentro de la cancha y la consiguieron. Quizás, para algunos no fue la mejor forma, por alguna razón le llaman los "Bad Boys", pero fueron amados y odiados por muchos. Pero, la plantilla empezó a clasificar a rondas finales de los playoffs y poco a poco se iba llegando hacia la meta principal de ser campeones.

Se tuvieron que enfrentar a Boston Celtics, equipo del momento, plantilla que lideraba Larry Bird, uno de los mejores jugadores de la historia, y superar este reto no era nada sencillo. Nos dejan ver una situación increíble que sucedió, cuando hicieron comentarios atacando a Larry Bird, pensando que lo iban a doblar y terminaron motivando al jugador equivocado. La pared de los Celtics, resultaba muy difícil de atravesar, necesitaban más jugadores que completaran el núcleo perfecto y eso fue lo que hicieron.

Y cada vez los desafíos se hacían más fuertes, estaba empezando la gloriosa carrera de Michael Jordan en Chicago Bulls, equipo que debieron enfrentar, contra un Jordan que había sido líder anotador de la liga y MVP. Isaiah Thomas, nació en Chicago, los fanáticos lo adoraban y Jordan hizo que se olvidaran de él(Isaiah Thomas). Y aunque no tenían el mayor talento de otros equipos, jugaban todos como uno solo y se convertían en un grupo muy difícil de superar. Jugar contra Detroit Pistons, se trataba de mantener una mentalidad muy fuerte, cada juego era de alta intensidad.

Perhaps, for some it was not the best way, for some reason they call them the "Bad Boys", but they were loved and hated by many. But, the team began to qualify to the final rounds of the playoffs and little by little they were getting closer to the main goal of being champions.

They had to face Boston Celtics, the team of the moment, led by Larry Bird, one of the best players in history, and overcoming this challenge was not easy. They let us see an incredible situation that happened, when they made comments attacking Larry Bird, thinking they were going to double him and ended up motivating the wrong player. The Celtics wall was very difficult to break through, they needed more players to complete the perfect core and that's what they did.

And each time the challenges were getting stronger, Michael Jordan's glorious career was beginning in Chicago Bulls, a team they had to face, against a Jordan who had been the league's leading scorer and MVP. Isaiah Thomas, born in Chicago, the fans loved him and Jordan made them forget about him (Isaiah Thomas). And even though they didn't have the top talent of other teams, they all played as one and became a very tough group to beat. Playing against Detroit Pistons, it was about keeping a very strong mentality, every game was high intensity.

El éxito de los Detroit Pistons, llegaría de gran manera, superando la barrera de los Boston Celtics, venciendo a Chicago Bulls, ahora solo estaba en frente los Ángeles Lakers, equipo liderado por Magic Jhonson y se trataba del reto final para ganar el anillo de campeonato en la NBA. Toda la afición de Detroit adopto el nombre de Bad Boys, hacían camisetas con el nombre y todo el mundo del baloncesto los etiqueto de esa manera. Está mal o está bien, ellos ganaban partidos y eso era lo que buscaba la franquicia.

Es impresionante porque otros equipos querían jugar rudo, replicar lo que ellos hacían, pero no les funcionaba porque Detroit ya estaba adaptado y tenían la fórmula perfecta para sacarte de concentración. En un núcleo de 4 años hicieron una pequeña dinastía, ganando 2 anillos de campeonato y perdiendo una final.

En la temporada de 1991, perderían contra Michael Jordan, Chicago Bulls, los venció y comenzó el declive de la franquicia de Detroit Pistons y los Bad Boys. El final para el equipo no fue nada agradable, todo se derrumbó y de mala forma. Como dice el narrado de la producción, "los villanos, no pueden terminar ganando". La producción está muy buena y para los amantes del baloncesto será un gran documental. Es la historia de un equipo que marco una etapa del baloncesto y que siempre estará presente en la memoria de los fanáticos que conocen del deporte y la NBA.

In a core of 4 years they made a small dynasty, winning 2 championship rings and losing a final.

The production is very good and for basketball lovers it will be a great documentary. It is the story of a team that marked an era in basketball and will always be present in the memory of fans who know the sport and the NBA.
