Review || La bronca entre los Detroit Pistons & los Indiana Pacers [ESP-ENG]
El incidente más mediático y desastroso que ha ocurrido en la NBA. Jugadores del equipo Indiana Pacers, enfrentaron un combate contra el público de los Detroit Pistons. Un evento que jamás será olvidado, tanto por la afición que estuvo dentro de la horrible situación, como de los fanáticos que estuvieron sintonizando el juego desde casa. Los propios protagonistas se encargan de hablar sobre el tema y revelar ciertos acontecimientos que surgieron a consecuencia de lo ocurrido.

Lo tenían todo, mucho talento, confianza, ofensiva y defensiva dentro de la cancha. Pero, mentalmente, no eran hombres estables y la combinación resulto ser un completo caos. El año 2004 está marcado en la NBA y todo gracias a la pelea que tuvieron los jugadores frente a los fanáticos.

They had it all, a lot of talent, confidence, offense and defense on the court. But, mentally, they were not stable men and the combination turned out to be a complete chaos. La franquicia de Indiana Pacers, estaba en completa restructuración, buscando piezas jóvenes para construir un proyecto ganador. La primera sería Jermaine O'Neal, un hombre grande con excelentes cualidades atléticas. Nos detallan un poco sus comienzos, siendo el jugador más joven en jugar un partido en la liga. El propio Jermaine O'Neal, comenta sus pretensiones al momento de llegar a Indiana y nos ilustra su gran mentalidad competitiva.
El siguiente movimiento fue contratar a Ron Artest, jugador con excelente físico, una defensa única dentro de la NBA y con mucha actitud para jugar el baloncesto. Se estaba empezando armar el rompecabezas, aunque, rápidamente, se dieron cuenta de que Ron Artest, no era un hombre común y corriente. Era una personalidad peculiar, podía ofrecerte muchas cosas buenas, pero la negativa ocasionaba daños colaterales. A través de sus propios comentarios, nos enteramos de sus situaciones personales.
En el año 2003, Indiana Pacers, se enfrentó a los Detroit Pistons, final de conferencia en el este. Reggie Miller, nos cuenta lo físico que fue esa serie, hubo mucho roce, para ese tiempo el juego ha sido sumamente fuerte. Se formó una gran rivalidad, ambos equipos eran los mejores de la liga, tanto en ofensiva como en defensiva y termino ganando Detroit Pistons. En ningún partido, algún equipo llego a los 100 puntos, nos habla de lo intenso y fuerte que se mantuvieron jugando.
Para poder vencer a Detroit Pistons, hacía falta una última pieza y sería Stephen Jackson. Otro jugador rudo, mentalidad de guerrero, Indiana Pacers, tenía 3 hombres con excelente defensiva y buen juego ofensivo. Aunque, también tenía 3 hombres que podían ser una dinamita en la cancha. En cualquier momento la pólvora puede explotar y ellos mismos van narrando la intensidad con la que saltaban hacia la cancha. Llego el 2004, nuevamente se ven las caras frente a Detroit Pistons, otra seria de final de conferencia y esta vez las revoluciones no se pudieron contener.

The next move was to sign Ron Artest, a player with an excellent physique, a unique defense in the NBA and a great attitude to play basketball. They were starting to put the puzzle together, but they quickly realized that Ron Artest was no ordinary man. He was a quirky personality, he could offer you a lot of good things, but the negativity caused collateral damage. Through his own comments, we learned about his personal situations.
In 2003, Indiana Pacers, faced the Detroit Pistons, conference finals in the East. Los Indiana Pacers, ahora estaban completos, contaban con una plantilla muy buena, para poder vencer a los Detroit Pistons. El partido volvió a tener la misma intensidad del año pasado, los jugadores seguían con un juego muy fuerte y el partido estaba en gran tensión. Un miembro importante de los Indiana Pacers, sufría de una gran depresión y ansiedad. Situación que lo convertía en una persona muy compulsiva, perdiendo la razón en diferentes momentos, lo cual, no convenía mucho al equipo y menos a la liga.
Y llegamos al partido de la controversia, juego que estaba siendo dominado por Indiana Pacers, las estrellas anotaban muchos puntos y estuvieron ganando por 15 puntos al final del partido. Jamaal Tinsley, le comenta a Ron Artest, "ya puedes hacer tu falta" y eso sería la gota que derramo el vaso. Ron Artest, comete una falta dura a Ben Wallace, quien reacciona inmediatamente y se arma una pequeña discusión entre ambos equipos. Un duelo que estaba definido, no había sentido para comenzar una disputa.
Ron Artest, se acuesta en la mesa de anotaciones, cuando recibe un golpe por una botella de agua que impacta en su rostro. El objeto fue lanzado por un aficionado y Ron Artest se abalanza hacia el público. Los jugadores de Indiana Pacers, lo siguen en ayuda y comienzan a pelear contra los aficionados de Detroit Pistons. No había mucha seguridad(policías), los fanáticos perdieron el control y los jugadores tampoco estaban en sus cabales. La pelea se formó en las gradas y luego dentro de la cancha, siendo un evento histórico.
La producción tiene una duración de 1 hora con 19 minutos y forma parte de la saga de "Al descubierto". La liga sancionó fuertemente a los jugadores, no hubo tanta repercusión hacia el fanático, lo que genero muchas críticas. Algunos jugadores tuvieron que ir a juicio, Indiana Pacers, se vino abajo por completo, un equipo que tenía proyección de campeonato, termino sin absolutamente nada y con una marca de tener jugadores que eran "matones". De esa manera comenzaron a llamarlos, la prensa no tuvo piedad y cambiaron algunas reglas de la NBA.
Totalmente recomendado, los protagonistas van detallando la historia, incluso, aparece el aficionado que inicio toda la controversia y otro aficionado que luego entro en la cancha cometiendo actos indeseables. Jermaine O'Neal, jugador franquicia del equipo, no fue el mismo después de ese acontecimiento, jugador que tenía todo para conseguir grandes reconocimientos en la liga y con altas pretensiones de ser campeón. El dueño del equipo, también ofrece sus declaraciones en el documental y comenta que "ha sido un error juntas a estos hombres". Duras palabras de un hecho histórico donde los jugadores fueron los únicos que perdieron.

Totally recommended, the protagonists are detailing the story, including the fan who started all the controversy and another fan who then entered the court committing undesirable acts. Jermaine O'Neal, franchise player of the team, was not the same after that event, a player who had everything to achieve great recognition in the league and with high pretensions of being champion. The owner of the team, also offers his statements in the documentary and comments that "it has been a mistake to put these men together". Harsh words of a historic event where the players were the only ones who lost.

Good episodes of that documentary series Untold, I've already seen several of the ones you reviewed. I haven't seen this episode, but I remember some of what happened from reading about it in the newspaper at the time. I'm going to look for the peisode to watch it.
The series of episodes is quite good, many entertaining cases and without a doubt this is a historical one. Very memorable. What happened that night in the NBA will never be forgotten.
