I think we all begin as movie consumers, but some films naturally encourage us to become appreciators.

I would say that this is a "natural law" common to everyone. One thing leads to another.

When a movie has a meaningful story, strong characters, and leaves us thinking long after it ends, it becomes more than just entertainment.

Yeah. That's precisely where we understand: "Now, I'm not just another consumer".
