Day In My Life : Netflix & Chore Kinda Day
pexelsToday was meant to be my self-care day. Make a nice dish, go to the hair salon to get my hair done, netflix and chill while sipping juice, but I didn't have all that. I spent the day cleaning instead and while that brings relief, it's not particularly a pleasant experience.
After breakfast/lunch, I started off cleaning the living room window, one of the worst chores ever. I wasn't doing the panes, just those hard-to-reach places where the window slides, I don't know what it's called.
It's so hard to clean windows in Nigerian houses because of all the metal bars on the windows. It makes the whole cleaning process restrictive and one can end up with cuts if not careful. I almost got cut today but ended with just painful scratches.
This is not even the type of window that has a mosquito net that can be unscrewed from the back in order to clean. The net on this is not the removable type.
It is very tedious to successfully clean windows here. There was a lot of dust and all of my efforts couldn't get all of it out. It's a 70% job and I couldn't have done better.
It took me a while to find the particular hand brush to do the job and one window later, the brush is disfigured. I would have to get another if I want to do the other windows.
I also swept, mopped and aired out the house. It reeked of Panda's pee because she pees in her cage when she's alone. It leaves a stench that fills the whole house and it's becoming unbearable.
I did all of this while absentmindedly watching a series on Netflix though, you can say I did Netflix and chore instead.
Panda and I went for a walk around that ended up being a run. She was very excited as usual so I obliged her and ran for some minutes. It felt good but I hadn't planned on running so I didn't have a sports bra or running shoes on. That is not a pleasant activity to do without these on if you know what I mean.
We got back home, I cooked, bathed and then headed out to the salon to see if I could still salvage my self-care day but I was kept waiting and it was already evening, so I came back home.
There was no electricity and I hoped that I would make a hive post when light came. I did some curation and engagment on my phone until light finally came a while ago.
Now it's almost midnight and I'm not in the mood to do any of the posts I intended. I'm in a bad mood and will continue watching Ginny & Georgia in a bit, hopefully I feel better.
My day didn't go as planned but it was a good day until this evening. I hope tomorrow is better. How was your day?

The only fun you had was with Panda, hahaha, you had fun with the reek from her pee, Panda made you day lot with the run that became a run apparently.
Bull has been a hell of a girl this past week causing lots of atrocities, she finally revealed her true self after thinking she's calmer than Bobby.
Tomorrow is another day, oh it's actually 01:11 am, today is another day to get it all done while continuing the series.
Hope you'd get that self care while sipping the juice.
By the way, Bull is a Lhasa Apso and Bobby is an English Mastiff.
It's true! Panda was the best part of my day. She's also a Lhasa apso.
They always show their true selves when they're comfortable 😄
It’s tough to have those types of days where something won’t go fully right. Thankfully a 70% clean job is better than a 20 or even a 0 so that’s a win!
