Knights of The Zodiac|| The Reincarnated Goddess

Over the years, I have come to believe in reincarnation–rebirth–and one of the themes of the movie "Knights of the Zodiac" is reincarnation. I must say, if you are a person who doesn't have an idea about reincarnation, then you may get a little bit confused along the line.

The movie,Knights of the Zodiac, is an action adventure released in May 2023. This is one that I totally enjoyed watching. I realised that I enjoyed watching the movie when I found myself rewatching it when I still have other fairly new movies to see. One reason why I enjoyed watching this masterpiece is the fact that the movie is one very simple movie with so many lessons to learn. One could easily overlook these lessons if they aren't watching with an open mind.

About The Movie

A street orphan unwittingly unlocks a potential of his that he didn't know about and this attracts a lot of bad people to him. Along the line, he realises that he is the only one who can protect a reincarnated goddess who came to watch over humanity.

The movie demonstrates the struggles each character has to go through or endure in a bid to get what they want. Just like every other action adventure, there are two sides to the game, the good side(heroes) and the bad side(villians).

Cast.

Mackenyu as Pegasus Seiya

png_20230723_170941_0000.png

Seiya is a street orphan who struggles to survive each day. He does whatever he can to put food on his table. During one of his battles, he unlocked a hidden potential in him, leading bad people directly to him. He acts out his roles with style and valour.

Madison Iseman as Athena

png_20230723_170802_0000.png

Athena –the goddess of war– is reincarnated as a mortal. Found in the arms of a dead knight, she is taken in and raised by Alman.

Athena captured my attention the first time she appeared on screen. I was trying to understand the underlying story behind her and her reincarnation

Famke Janssen as Guraad

png_20230723_171310_0000.png

She tries her best to stop an alleged war that she saw coming. Guraad plays the role of a very powerful lady who has whatever she wants at her beck and call but there was one missing piece and she vows to find the missing piece by all means, even if it cost the lives of her loved ones. Viscous would be one word to describe her character.

*Diego Tinoco as Nero

png_20230723_171045_0000.png

Like they say, every hero needs a villain. Nero plays the role of Guraad's sidekick. He is one very powerful sidekick who happened to have his own motive.

Sean Bean as Alman Kiddo

png_20230723_171625_0000.png

Alman is Athena's father. He found Athena in the arms of a dead knight and vows to protect her till his very last breath. He plays the role of a loving father who would do anything to protect his daughter.

Mark Dacascos as Mylock

png_20230723_171745_0000.png

This is one character that teaches a very vital lesson. Mylock is an embodiment of loyalty. He fights viciously yet swiftly with one and only one goal in mind.

My Opinion.

Knights of Zodiac is one very interesting movie. I'm not an action movie fanatic but this particular movie kept me hooked. The characters played their roles beautifully and this was the first Hollywood movie I watched with a Japanese actor as one of the leads.

One of the parts that stood out for me was when Seiya was at the verge of giving up but he didn't. He wiped the dust off his shoulders, stood to his feet and gave the battle his all. In the end, he achieved his goal. This scene sends a message to the thousands of viewers out there. Giving up shouldn't be an option whenever your intentions are right.

Recommendation.

I would whole-heartedly recommend this movie to anyone and everyone. There is just so much to learn from one movie. Trust, determination, loyalty, commitment and hope are just a few of the lessons you would learn from this movie. I would give the movie an 8/10 because it was an amazing watch. If you're up for learning a few yet useful life lessons, then you should definitely see this movie.

This is going on my watch list NOW!!!!

I love the trailer. But even more so, the cast are very familiar faces. For some of them, this is the first movie I’ll be seeing them play in aside their signature (or should I say debut) movies? This is going to be an interesting one for sure.

Is this inspired on the anime by the same name? Judging by the plot I think it is, so if you're into anime I highly recommend you to watch it ✨.

Loved your post, is a very complete review and it made me wanna watch the movie right now.

Thanks for sharing this here 🖤

I came across the anime when I was doing a little reserve. If you're recommending it then I most definitely will see it.

I'm glad you like my review ☺️

I love Saint Seiya but I've never been a fan of anime adaptations, so far there are very few good reviews I've read about it. Maybe I'll watch it just to pass the time but I really don't have high expectations.

I only like the classics

This adaption would be interesting. A friend recommended the anime version. Has you seen this version?

This is the first completely positive opinion I've read about this movie and to be honest, I think it's excellent that you liked it and I could read in other comments on your post, responses from you where you make reference that you haven't seen the anime and I must say that if this movie makes people who haven't seen the original material decide to watch it, then there is something positive about this production.

I made a review of the same film weeks ago and being a loyal fan of the anime, I found many flaws in this film, not so much in the fight scenes and so on, but in the design of the armor and decisions in the changes in the story and I know that changes should occur, but I think it could have been done better.

I agree very much to the perspective you give about reincarnation, rebirth as themes of the story, for Saint Seiya or The Knights of the Zodiac, this is very important because always in every return of the Goddess Athena, the bronze knights, especially Pegasus will be there to protect her, it is one of the constants of the story.

Okay, now I feel I should really see the anime. There were a few unanswered questions in the end of the movie and So i feel that there would be a continuation to the movie.
