a season in particular that you would say is the "best" for that show?

I don't remember, lol. That's why it's fun to watch again. Alas, I remember the main twists of the plot so the general storytelling line can't surprise me.

I am rewatching for the first time after 10 years or so, and I expected Season 1 to be quite bad (I remembered the beginning wasn't impressive). But actually no, even the quality of the image is quite high - the cameraman tried to make scenes look cinematic.

If you don't remember or don't know the general story, don't judge the show after Season 1 and even Season 2 - the Winchester brothers start as guys who simply hunt ghosts but each Season opens up new things - I am watching Season 4 now, and both brothers got really transformed (don't want to spoil), and they discovered a lot about the world of supernatural - and much more is ahead.

I remember at some point the show becomes overloaded with fiction.... Season 12 or 13, not sure - things become too absurd. Before that, it's super intriguing imo. And one of the strongest sides: they have amazing bright characters apart from the brothers - not from the very beginning, they appear slowly in different seasons. Many years later, I still remember some of them and love them. House of Dragons, you said? I remember they have many blonde characters - only this, lol.

The worst part of Supernatural: they have episodes that give nothing to the general storyline - like, a Halloween story and New Year Eve horror - often ridiculous, often you feel they really tried to engage teenagers below 16, so some episodes can be childish. I just skip some of them.

any series that makes it as long as this one did was obviously doing a lot of things right. It is a good show. I understand they had a long-running story about the family and the brothers but the thing that made Supernatural so great that it wasn't necessary for the most part for people to know about this at all in order to enjoy an episode or two because mostly, if I remember correctly, almost all of them were a self-contained story and if you knew something about Dean and Sam that was helpful, but not essential, to enjoying the episode.

I'm gonna just go ahead and start from S1.

long-running story about the family and the brothers

I would say that they have a long-running story about the world of the supernatural and how brothers encounter it and are changed by it. I don't want to give spoilers here so I am saying vaguely. The long-running story is awesome, imo. I keep rewatching by the way, Season 5 by now, my "break-for-meal" show.

a self-contained story

S1-S3 have many self-contained stories. But the best part are those episodes that belong to the long-running story.

In the age of AI, that's the best compliment, thank you! :)

I have very fond memories of one episode in particular where they encounter this guy that has a persuasive ability. he can make anyone do anything that he wants. In the very first part of it he tells Dean "hey man, nice car! Can i have it?" and Dean gives it to him.

I can't remember how they would possibly pull one over on a guy that has the superpower to make anyone do whatever he wants but as usual, the Winchesters pulled it off!

Really want to give you a good spoiler, lol, but I won't.

Looking forward to reading your impressions if you decide to watch the show.
