Watching movies is one of the things that we could do to save ourselves from stressful and depressing scenarios in our lives. We go out and go to the cinema to watch some movies that could help you avoid thinking about negative thoughts and what makes you feel down.

In the past few days, I've been in a very messy and depressing situation for the first time in my life because of love. I've been drinking alcohol every night to forget. But alcohol can't help, so I decided to go out and go to the SM to watch a movie in their cinema rather than drink alcohol again.

This part is exceptional, or, should I say, an unnecessary part of the blog. I just want to share my experienced when I go inside the Cinema.

When I entered the mall, I was debating inside my mind whether I would eat first or go to the cinema and find a movie to watch. I looked at the time of my arrival, and it's still just lunch time. My thoughts of going to the cinema to look for something to watch won. So, I go to the third floor, where the cinema is.

When I was in front of the cinema, the posters were on the wall, so I could see which movie I should watch. The first one, which is on the left side, was a Filipino horror movie, while the one on the right side was a Filipino romance movie. I can't decide which movies I can watch since the ones on the wall are not to my liking. I don't like to watch the romance genre because I am a bitter person right now. And the Filipino horror movie is also to my liking because I'm a Filipino, and a horror movie made by Filipinos makes me not feel the fear because it makes me think that "it's not real" because I know the artist.

Since it was my first time to go and watch a movie alone, I really don't know what to do because it was my first time to approach and ask how to choose and pay for a ticket. I chose to set aside my introverted self, and I strengthened my confidence to go in front of the disk where I can pay for tickets. It is good that the man is approachable, and he was ready to guide me and answer my questions. Anyway, I chose the "Tarot" movie.

It's a horror, and I am good at watching things like this, especially if it's a foreign movie. I just hope that there's no '6' scenes. Some horror movies like Wrong Turn are so traumatizing for me because I didn't expect the scenes when I was a kid. Haha

It says in the poster above that the ticket price is PHP 285.00. I chose 2:00 p.m. time because the first batch is at 11:30 a.m. which means I am already late. Well.. 2:00 P.M. is still a good time for me to watch.

Choosing a seat is part of buying a ticket, and it's really hard for me to choose where I should sit. In front? Nah, I don't like to be in front because my eyes would hurt because the brightness of the big screen would damage them. In the back? Nah, I don't like to be at the back because I can see what everyone is doing while watching, and it will be just disturbing. For example, the couple who's cuddling because some horror movies can make the couple do PDA. So, I asked the man in front of me what seat he would recommend for me if I wanted to sit where I could have the best view and not disturb me. And he told me that I could sit in the middle. And he told me to choose from E5-E12. And I chose the E9 seat because I think that's the best seat for me.

The time for screening is 2:00 p.m. and checking the time when I am done purchasing my ticket, which is 12:38 p.m. I still have some time to walk around the SM, so I go first to the first floor to find something to eat, but then all the fast food chains are full because it's lunch time, so I don't have a choice but to just drink MilkTea because that is the only place I can wait for the time.

When I look at my watch, it's 1:23 p.m. when I arrived in front of the cinema. I think I need to go early since I will buy some snacks first that I can eat and drink while watching, and it's better to be early than late.

It's my first time going to a cinema alone. I am nervous about how to order some snacks. I was supposed to order from Potato Corner because I am addicted to fries. But then, the time was not good because they will cook the fries first for minutes, plus when I go inside their stall, they have customers in the lane, so I decided to just buy a snack in the cinema's snack. I ordered cheese-flavored pop corn and a Sprite as a drink. The man who's getting my order is kind enough to guide me on how to order. After paying, I should get my order, but he recommended that they deliver it to my seat, so he asked which row I was in, and I told him "E9" and which movie I would watch.

After that, I decided to go inside. When I was in the hallway, I was nervous because I really didn't know where I would go. Good thing that there's signage indicating which number I will go to since the movie was at Cinema 1.

I go inside the 1. I gave my ticket to the guard who was in front first, and then there's a lady who guided me to where's my seat.

While waiting for the movie to start, there's a lot of new movie advertisements that will be aired next month on the screen. It's giving me a feeling of "I will watch them soon." or "I will come back and watch those" (except the filo-romance movies) because the spoilers were cool, especially the up-coming movie Inside Out 2.

While waiting for the movie to begin, my snacks arrived. I tasted the cheese pop corn, and I liked it because it's delicious because they add more cheese powder, which is what I like when it comes to snacks.

The other audience came with partners and friends, and here I am. I don't know if I regret sitting in the middle because I don't have anyone beside me. Lol, I don't totally regret sitting there, but the couple in front of me while watching gives me a reason to. Because they cuddle when there's a scary part of the scene in the movie.

Here are my thoughts about the movie that I watched.

In the beginning of the movie, I liked it because they didn't show up with the title right away. It looks like an ad. at first. Which surprised me because I thought that it's still an ad. But I was confused because the scene is taking longer to be an ad. So I thought, "Ah, okay, so this is the movie." So I started to eat my popcorn and focus on the story.

I am not familiar with the characters. Which is why I wondered if there are really that many Hollywood actors in other countries. Unlike in our country, they just have a few actors, and I am tired of seeing the same faces when I watch some TV shows.

You know the reason why I decided to go watch a movie in a cinema is because I wanted to divert my attention to others. Because the things that happened in the past few days are making me feel depressed and tired. I wanted to move on, but here I am, watching the movie. Some scenes give me a reason to think about it again and let me remember what "happened," and the worst is that they make me remember the thing that I wanted to forget! Especially the part where they play "Most likely to..." which is really part of a fun time when a group of friends are drinking and having fun. I questioned myself again about whether I had made the right decision in life.

Anyway, back to the topic, the movie is not the same as the other horror movie that I watched in the past. Maybe there are a lot of similar scenarios in other horror movies that I have watched, but I really like the story. The thing is, I am not satisfied with making my heart pound, and I didn't even feel scared that much because of the scary scenes. It's not that scary at all. I think what just makes me shocked is the part where some scenes are brutal. Which I didn't expect because I thought it was just a ghost.

I also felt angriness because of one character. We all have this kind of person in our lives who is "fool" or so easy to die in a serious situation, right?

What I also didn't expect was the Tarot card reading. Because it's not the same as what I watched when someone read a tarot card. It's different. I mean, they didn't let someone choose a card and just read the card to see what the cardholder or reader picked.

Anyway, my rating for this movie is 8.9 out of 10. Because It's not that scary for me. But I like the story. I still enjoyed watching it and it's worth for it's price.

QUESTION: What will you do if the next thing that happens to your life is based on tarot cards and the result is not as good as you expected?

That's all.

THANKS FOR READING!

It's refreshing to see new faces, especially if you're tired of the same old actors. Hopefully, these new characters bring something interesting to the story🤸🏾‍♀️✨️

Have a nice weekend 🫂💕

The Filipino horror movie was a flop based on what I have researched hahah it had a negative rating.

Isn't it scary watching a horror movie alone? Never tried watching one and most likely will never do it na ung watching horror movies hahha afraiddddd.

Infairness di pa umabot ng 300 si ticket mura pa sha!

I expected that. Because, horror movies here in the Philippines are no longer as exciting as shake rattle and roll.

Isn't it scary watching a horror movie alone?

Not at all. I'll admit that I'm a little floaty because I'm thinking about your beshy. Charought! I'm used to watching horror na. Mas takot padin akong mawala siya sa buhay ko 🥲
