Greetings to everyone in the Movies & TVshows community, this time I bring you as a recommendation one of my favorite K-drama, True Beauty, which will make you reflect on 4 important aspects that a girl should consider: Being confident, that makeup is not synonymous with rejection of the physical, be yourself leading to the last aspect, self-love.
With this k-drama I met the talented and one of my favorite actors: Cha Eunwoo, where in turn, I got to discover my only favorite K-pop band: Astro. This k-drama will not disappoint you in terms of acting, everyone does a great job in their roles, where this actor will make you sigh on more than one occasion; scenes that will make you angry, cry and laugh.

Synopsis
True beauty is the story of a young girl named Lim Joo-kyung (Moon Ga-youg), who may not look attractive physically, but has a very noble heart that will make her inner beauty shine and discover true friendship and love. However, because of her looks, she will initially lose self-esteem, which is further highlighted by the bullying she suffers in her school life, as for some she does not fit the ideals of beauty that society imposes, adding the zero support from some of her family members.
This fact will make her consider taking her own life, but she ends up reflecting on this and decides not to do it; from here she meets our main protagonist Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun-woo) who stops her thinking that she was going to commit such an act with herself, continuously reproaching her for this action, telling her how it would affect those around them (his attitude will be understood later on),
After these events, Joo-Kyung is presented with the opportunity to change neighborhood and school, an opportunity that will also allow her to hide her true identity through makeup and thereby achieve correspond to the social standard. However, the situation becomes more complicated for our protagonist when her school is also attended by Lee Su Ho, the boy who had previously seen her true appearance.

Personal opinion
As Coco Chanel once said: "Beauty should begin in the heart and soul, otherwise cosmetics are useless", in True beauty the protagonist was always beautiful, the makeup only enhanced who she really was, a person who accepts her weaknesses, a person who does not compete to try to be someone else, much less to please them, even with the moments of low self-esteem, she always managed to shine; even though she saw herself as someone ugly, she managed to overcome and understand that who loves and respects you, is not the one who looks at your physique, but who sees beyond, but above all, if you love and respect yourself, there is no one who destroys you.
This story, beyond the romance, puts us on the table several situations, the first is that women are often subjected by stereotypes of beauty and not being good enough for others; the second is that, to get the support of your family, you have to make it work, communication is essential for the relationship to flow. The third is to accept what you want to be in your life, without waiting for what others say, if you are passionate about something, do it, example of this is when Joo-kyung takes a career that many would say, does not meet social standards, more, yet it fulfills her, shining in what she does best. And, last but not least, the pressure that often arises in young people (adults too), in terms of the bullying they may be involved in and the pressure to achieve the best grades, to be better than the rest, however, that begs the question, do you feel better about yourself?
Is a series where each character learns to heal and to value each bond that comes together. No character was less relevant, all were a crucial part for the development of our protagonists, and of course of the story; feed that spirit of being authentic and sincere; that makeup beyond looking pretty, is an ally to enhance what you already are, make up not for others, but for yourself.

Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Movies & TVshows, en esta oportunidad les traigo como recomendación uno de mis K-drama favoritos, True Beauty, del cual les hará reflexionar 4 aspectos importantes que una chica debe considerar: Ser segura, que el maquillaje no es sinónimo de rechazo hacia el físico, ser tu misma conllevando al ultima aspecto, amor propio.
Con este k-drama conocí al talentoso y uno de mis actores favoritos: Cha Eunwoo, donde a su vez, logré descubrir a mi única banda del K-pop favorita: Astro. Este k-drama no los decepcionara en cuanto actuación, todos hacen un gran trabajo en sus papeles, donde este actor les hará suspirar en más de una ocasión; escenas que te harán enojar, llorar y reír.

Sipnosis
True beauty es la historia de una joven chica llamada Lim Joo-kyung (Moon Ga-youg), quien físicamente puede no parecerles atractiva, pero posee un corazón muy noble que hará que su belleza interior brille y descubra la verdadera amistad y amor. Sin embargo, debido a su aspecto, en un principio la hará perder autoestima, remarcándose aun más con el acoso que sufre en su vida escolar, ya que para algunos no encaja con los ideales de belleza que la sociedad impone, añadiendo el cero apoyo de algunos de los miembros de su familia.
Este hecho, la hará plantearse quitarse la vida, pero termina reflexionando sobre esto y decide no hacerlo; a partir de aquí conoce a nuestro protagonista principal Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun-woo) quien la detiene pensando que iba a cometer tal acto consigo misma, reprochándole continuamente dicha acción, diciéndole cómo afectaría a quienes les rodea. (más adelante se entenderá la actitud de él),
Después de estos acontecimientos, a Joo-Kyung se le presenta la oportunidad de cambiar de vecindad y escuela, oportunidad que también le permitirá ocultar su verdadera identidad a través del maquillaje y con ello, lograr corresponder al estándar social. Lo cual lo logra, todas quedan maravillados con su belleza física, no obstante, la situación se complica para nuestra protagonista, cuando en su escuela también asiste Lee Su Ho, el chico que ya había visto anteriormente su verdadero aspecto.

A partir de esto, sus destinos se entrelazan cada vez más, donde la protagonista aprende a valorarse, abrazar sus defectos y no perder la esencia de quien es. En cuanto nuestro protagonista, aprenderá abrir sus sentimientos reprimidos, a lograr avanzar y darse una oportunidad para amar.
Opinión personal
Como una vez dijo Coco Chanel: “La belleza debería comenzar en el alma y el corazón, de otra manera los cosméticos son inútiles”, en True beauty la protagonista siempre fue bella, el maquillaje solo realzo quien realmente era, una persona que acepta sus flaquezas, una persona que no compite por tratar de ser alguien más, ni mucho menos de complacerlos, aun con los momentos de baja autoestima, siempre logró brillar; pese a que se miraba asimismo como alguien fea, logro superarse y comprender que quien te ama y respeta, no es aquel que mira el físico, sino que ve más allá, pero sobre todo, si te amas y respeta no hay quien te destruya.
Esta historia, más allá del romance, nos pone en mesa diversas situaciones, la primera es que las que las mujeres muchas veces somos sometidas por los estereotipos de belleza y el no ser suficiente buena para los demás; la segunda es que, para lograr el apoyo de tu familia, tienes que hacer que funcione, la comunicación es esencial para que la relación fluya. La tercera es aceptar lo que quieres ser en tu vida, sin esperar lo que digan los demás, si te apasiona algo, hazlo, ejemplo de ello es cuando Joo-kyung toma una carrera que muchos dirían, no cumple con los estándares sociales, más, sin embargo, eso la satisface, brillando en lo que mejor hace. Y, por último, pero no menos importante, la presión que surge muchas veces en jóvenes (también en adultos), en cuanto al acoso que se pueden ver envueltos y la presión por alcanzar las mejores calificaciones, el ser mejor que el resto, no obstante, eso hace formular la pregunta ¿te sientes mejor contigo mismo?
Es una serie, donde cada personaje aprende a curarse y a valorar cada lazo que se vaya uniendo. Ningún personaje fue menos relevante, todos fueron una parte crucial para el desarrollo de nuestros protagonistas, y por supuesto de la historia; alimenta ese espíritu de ser autentico y sincero; que el maquillaje más allá de verse bonita, es un aliado para realzar lo que ya eres, maquíllate no por los demás, sino por ti misma.

Creo que la reseña hace un tiempo. La trama es muy buena. Yo conocí a Cha Eunwoo en Hit the Top hacia de Ídolo en esa serie de 2017. Después me di cuenta que cantaba en Astro 🤔 aunque no lo habia percatado.
Esta trama es muy buena como sostienw porque muestra el lado de cada uno de los personajes. Recuerdo que fue un revuelo por la elección de la protagonista. Una historia muy genial y que dividió a los fans por el final.
La quimica entre los protagonistas de verdad me gustó, creo que fue buena elección de actores😊
Disfruté mucho viendo este k-drama, lo único que siempre le critiqué es que el cambio de la protagonista de "chica fea" a "chica linda" no me parecía un gran cambio, yo le veía igual de ambas formas, jaja. Muy buena reseña.
En el webtoon se puede apreciar más el cambio, pero si nos dirigimos a la cultura coreana, el tener acné ya es algo muy feo; yo tampoco le vi mucho cambio😅 Gracias por leer mi post😊

True Beauty es demasiado bueno, fue de los primeros k-dramas que vi y lo ame con toda mi alma. Para mi el desarrollo de Joo-kyung durante cada episodio fue hermoso, me gusto ver reflejado todo ese proceso de como fue aceptandose a si misma con altas y bajas. Todo el mundo habla del amor propio como algo maravilloso, pero todo lo que puede pasar una persona para amarse a si misma no es algo tan facil ni tan bonito :(
True beauty también fue uno de mis primeros k-dramas que vi y la verdad te muestra muy bien el desarrollo de cada personaje. Gracias por leer mi post😊
