Pero en el transcurso de pensar llegar a ello son apresados y llevados en barco a un lugar donde trabajaran como esclavos, aunque gracias a su astucia y ayuda de un caballo salen del barco hasta llegar a una isla, la cual se asemeja a la que sale en el mapa, adentrándose más descubren una civilización que resulta ser la ciudad de oro, y que por cosas del destino son llevados dentro de ella y considerados unos dioses por una confusión del proceso, sobre todo creyendo que eran dioses, Miguel y Tulio aprovechan la oportunidad para zafarse de sus problemas y lograr conseguir el oro que puedan, salir de ahí y tener una nueva vida, pero no contaban que Chel una nativa del lugar se daría cuenta quienes son, sin importarle ello les ayuda para lograr ella también salir de la ciudad.

Aunque todo parece resultar fácil aparentar ser lo que no son, el sacerdote fiel creyente que los dioses llegarían para hacer justicia y castigar a los malos, los mantendrá a pruebas y vigilando para que cumplan con las profecías que él ha indicado, sin embargo, para Miguel y Tulio se les será algo sencillo soportar ello al menos hasta cierto punto, pero en el camino aprenderán que mentir tiene sus pro y contra, que el querer obtener algo por la fuerza no siempre da como resultado algo bueno, que al contrario puede traer más problemas de los que esperas, que el creer tanto en un dios y sus reglas ocasionando que juegos con eso, puede traer resentimiento y fanatismo que a la final ocasione más daño de lo que crees, sobre todo a inocentes que no tienen que ver nada en el asunto.
