Para entender mejor les comento brevemente de que trata la historia, es de un joven vikingo llamado Hipo, que pese a ser el hijo del jefe de los vikingos el cual era considerado uno de los más fuertes, habilidosos y responsable, Hipo carecía de ciertas características que permitieran decir que era igual a su papá, por lo que para algunos era considerado torpe y sin mucha fuerza para poder llevar el cargo que su familia tiene, sobre todo el defender el pueblo de los dragones, consideradas la peor especie ya que pueden atacarles, por su sus vidas se enfocan en cazar a los dragones para ellos poder sobrevivir.

Pero para Hipo, pese a su situación física y la falta de apoyo de su padre, decide ir a un lugar lejos de su pueblo, en donde se encuentra un dragón totalmente diferente a lo que antes había visto, se trata de una Furia nocturna, considerada como un dragón más peligroso que el resto, pero cuando Hipo entra en contacto con este dragón se da cuenta que es totalmente diferente a lo que esperaba, toda su vida había sido guiado y enseñado que a los dragones solo hay que cazarlos, aunque él nunca lo sintió así, pero al conectar con este dragón al cual le pone el nombre de Chimuelo, se da cuenta que siempre se siento diferente al resto y mucha razón tenía.

A partir de ese encuentro Hipo y Chimuelo comenzarán una aventura, en la que no solo poder estar cerca será lo peligroso y complicado, el tratar que el resto sobre todo su padre pueda entender que darles una oportunidad a los dragones de convivir con ellos puede cambiar el destino de ambas especies, pero sobre todo salvar a todos aquellos que quieren ya que una amenaza se aproxima. Es una historia en la cual se puede apreciar no solo la importancia que a un hijo hay que darle en entenderlo, comprender que, aunque uno desee que se parezca a uno sino lo es, no es significado que está mal, al contrario, hay que apoyarlo a perseguir sus sueños y aceptar lo bueno para seguir fortaleciendo y lo malo para ir dejándolo atrás siendo de esta manera una mejor persona en el futuro.
