Hello, moviegoers of the world!

I'm back here to tell you my impressions about Matrix Resurrections, which I saw a few days ago and about which I have a pain that I can't resist. But, first I want to make it clear that the movie is not bad, you can have a good time watching it, but, it was not what I expected.

It turns out that I went all excited to see the movie, because I am a fan of this trilogy and, from the first sequence, I felt that something was wrong, like the internet in my house.

We were moving forward and the flashbacks of the previous films kept appearing, as well as the explicit references to the entire Matrix universe. A strategy that well used can be very useful to reconstruct a story, but I think that in this case it didn't work at all.

Subsequently, this whole Neo's story begins, conflicted by a hundred mental and emotional anguish and, on the other hand, Trinity is immersed in a daily life so boring that it bores.
Thus, incipiently, the plot emerges all that theme of making Neo wake up again and well, you know what comes next.

Then, a scene comes along where I got lost and started to wonder what this was all about...where was the Matrix essence? and there I was, trying to adjust to the nature of this new film.

I confess that, at times, I thought about getting up, letting it go and staying with just the first three. It is clear that the beginning of the film tries to show us what happened after the trilogy came out and the impact it had on the world and how it became a reference point for everyone.

But, everything gets complicated when they try to join the two plots and I don't know if it's that I'm too old and I have memories anchored in another era, but that was what I didn't like about the movie. At times, I could feel that it was two movies that tried to link but it didn't work. I've always believed that there are films that in themselves are already complete and should be left that way and Matrix is one of them.

Besides that, I noticed a very superficial treatment of all the plots leaving it very short. The depth and complexity of central themes such as the eternal dichotomy between the real and the unreal, the fight to maintain power and even the love between Neo and Trinity, the central theme of the film, were treated so lightly that, in my opinion, it ended up being very weak.

And if we add to that, the appearance of new characters that are part of the new Matrix era, all full of hope, longing for freedom and unwavering passion and admiration for a legend, which is very fashionable in these times of movies, the contrariness continued to overwhelm me, because, to some extent, I found them very flat.

Even with the appearance of the new Morpheus I felt very uncomfortable, however, I gave him a chance and, although I did not end up liking him, I understood that this was another representation of that character.

Forgive my frankness, but I just couldn't stop writing about this, because I can't keep it just for myself. I need to know if it was just me who was disappointed....

With nothing more to say, I salute you
