Para prepararme para el estreno este mes de "El Exorcista Creyente" y dado que es una continuación de la original, decidí ver la Versión Extendida y Remasterizada de El Exorcista de 1973 que se realizó en el año 2000, por lo que primero los invito a ver la calidad que alcanzó este trabajo de actualización y lo hermoso que se ve el Trailer con las mejoras visuales del film, que cuenta con escenas que no se incluyeron en su estreno. Pero confieso que lo que más me llamó la atención fue la calidad que le hicieron al sonido, que lograron hacerme inquietar por un ambiente de misterio o sobrenatural ocurriendo alrededor, fue realmente sensorial esta mejora y la disfruté mucho.

En esta segunda oportunidad que estoy viendo El Exorcista de 1973 ya mucho más adulta y con muchos años siguiendo el género del terror, puedo verla con otra perspectiva y pudiendo analizar algunas cosas que ha dejado su director William Friedkin, y quiero hablar sobre esto en la Comunidad Movies & Tv Shows.

I think this is a way to make us empathize with Father Karras, since he regains his faith and manages to save Regan through her sacrifice, and I think he is the great message within the film.

Las situaciones de la posesión van escalando hasta que ya Chris no puede negar que necesita la ayuda del padre Karras, necesita acudir a la FE.
Sin embargo, en El Exorcista de 1973 en mi opinión, no se desarrolla abiertamente el arco de este personaje, hacia la aceptación de la FE, no se destinaron líneas en el guion para ver esa aceptación de Chris, lo cual en mi opinión hubiese sido bastante emotivo de ver.
También noté el escepticismo de Chris, cuando Regan le muestra la Quija, que aparece sin razón en la casa, y Chris no se alarma ni le presta atención a esto. Por cierto, no me quedó claro ni de donde salió esa Quija, ni quien puso el crucifijo en el cuarto, no lo dicen en ningún momento o yo no me enteré.

In the film there are certain signs that she is not a believer, in fact the issue of the crucifix that appears in Regan's room, she does not see it as a value to calm or resolve the situation, she believes in science although she cannot have answers. The possession situations escalate until Chris can no longer deny that he needs Father Karras' help, he needs to turn to FAITH.
However, in The Exorcist of 1973 in my opinion, the arc of this character, towards the acceptance of the FAITH, is not openly developed, no lines were allocated in the script to see that acceptance of Chris , which in my opinion would have been quite emotional to see.
I also noticed Chris's skepticism, when Regan shows him the Quija, which appears for no reason in the house, and Chris is not alarmed or pays attention to this. By the way, it was not clear to me where that Quija came from, or who put the crucifix in the room, they don't say it at any time or I didn't find out.
Todo pasa muy rápido Durante toda la película vamos viendo que la historia se va desarrollando muy lenta, captura mi atención realmente no me llegué a aburrir, pero al tener ese título la película, uno asumiría que iba a tener situaciones más fuertes a lo largo del metraje. Una vez se llega al punto de que los Padres van a hacer el Exorcismo, ya eso pasa bastante rápido, la película dura 2:08 min y esto ocurre en 1:43 min.
Por supuesto que pasan algunas cosas durante la película, pero el Exorcismo como tal es al final y pasa muy rápido en relación a lo que dura la película, cuando uno esperaría ver Terror, bastante Terror en una película de Terror.
Escenas fuertes antes del propio Exorcismo, la bajada por las escaleras de Regan en forma invertida y botando sangre por la boca, la cual fue incluida en la versión extendida que nos llegó en el año 2000, pero no la vimos en su primera aparición sino hasta entonces.

Los que no tanto como el vómito verde, pues en su momento si fueron un plus dentro de la narrativa, aunque hoy ya nos parece algo gracioso más bien.
El deterioro de Regan fue abrumador en su momento, también el giro de la cabeza, el humo que se ve en el cuarto por el frio que hacía es increíble que realmente tuvieron que hacer que esa habitación estuviese bien fría para generar el efecto en cámara. Las voces de Regan en posesión también buenísimas.

El Exorcista de 1973 en su momento logró una Nominación a los Premios Oscar de la Academia, no ganó por supuesto, pero fue un gran logro que el género de Terror llegara a ser nominado.
Ha envejecido muy bien esta película, aún podemos disfrutarla junto a las nuevas generaciones, como nuestros hijos y ellos puede valorar y hasta asustarse eventualmente con El Exorcista de 1973, que como mencioné luego que la remasterizaron quedó muy bien.
Las actuaciones fueron excelentes, el casting también, las locaciones memorables, es increíble lo que lograron con los efectos especiales disponibles en esa época, seguirá siendo un referente del género de Terror.
Deseo que El Exorcista - Creyente que se estrena este mes, logre hacerle justicia ya que es una continuación, y que puedan estar la una al lado de la otra, y no que sea otro fracaso. Sobre todo por la emoción de ver de nuevo al personaje de Chris MacNeil.

Te comento que yo vi la versión original por allá por los 70 (rodó mi cédula) y si se ven las escenas donde Reagan baja las escaleras en forma invertida y también la señora del servicio reconoce que fue ella la que le colocó el crucifijo. En cuanto a los curas te puedo decir que ellos son hombres y como tales también cometen errores y también flaquean y tienen miedo como nosotros. Lo que los hace diferentes es que reciben el sacramento del orden sacerdotal, que no les confiere poderes especiales pero sí los reviste del espíritu santo y robustece su fe. El protagonista no es el cura sino aquel a quien representa. Gracias por traer este recuerdo del famoso clásico a mi memoria.

Es uno de los clásicos del cine, me dejo bastante impresionado cuando la vi por primera vez.
Muy buenos efectos, pero no me quedaron muchas ganas de volver a verla.
Lo que más me impresiono del filme fueron los eventos infortunados que sucedieron tras escenas a las personas del set de grabación. Son anécdotas bastante siniestras.
