"A Breed Apart" My Review.
I was in my era of watching a horror movie because "it has been a while since I saw one." When I saw this movie pop up on my notification bar, I told myself, "Wow, you came at the right time," so I went ahead to watch the trailer; it was quite entertaining though. I made the decision to download it and was ready to risk my one hour and a few minutes.
The plot
The movie tells the story of Violet and some other social media influences who got an invitation to a private island. However, they soon become part of a horrific reality show when the dog on the island starts acting funny and eating the humans they come across.
My Review
The genres of this movie are "horror and comedy." The first few scenes got me glued to the movie at first. I'm not the type that usually judges the book by its cover; I'm the type that likes going deep into the book.
In every movie I watch, I love giving a shot out to the cast for their outstanding performance, and I'm gonna do the same as well here. They said this was supposed to be a horror movie, but then the horror in it isn't giving me the kind of horror I expected it to be. My expectations were cut short like "why!"
The one thing that pained me the most was the AI effect on the dogs; it looked like the humans and dogs rarely appeared to be inhabiting the same physical space. And then, thinking of the scene when the dogs were swimming in the sea, can I ask a quick question "How is it possible that sharks don't eat dogs?" Despite all the many dogs swimming in the sea like they owned it, no shark appeared till all of a sudden, a shark appeared and ate one dog "damn!"And since when did dog started jumping from one tree to the tree like monkeys.
And talking about the comedy part, "it possessed none," the whole movie didn't look real to me; all the characters looked fake, and the AI effect on the dogs made everything even worse. The atrocious sound design makes half the dialog unintelligent and the other half unexpectedly loud, but it's not like anything the annoying characters say is worth hearing, anyway.
I'm gonna rate this movie a 2/10 and that two is for the effort in creating this piece. I'm not gonna recommend this movie to anyone, but if anyone is interested in seeing it, why not? You can go ahead and watch it for yourself.
