"Meeting the Khumalos" My Review
Have you ever seen a movie that people talked so much about "positively," and when you finally join the league to watch that same movie, you end up getting a different view from what everyone has been saying? That is literally what happened to me when I watched the movie "Meeting the Khumalos".
Every social media platform I visited was having a positive review on this movie; at some points, I got overfed with it, and I was like since everyone is talking about it, "Why not give it a try?" Those were my words. So I decided to try it out and watch it. Besides, one of my favorite South African actresses starred as well; let's say she was the main reason I decided to watch the movie. So I downloaded it and was ready to risk my one hour and some minutes.
The Plot
The movie tells the story of two mothers who were once best friends and couldn't do without each other, turned enemies. The two started a war when they finally found themselves in the same neighborhood and later found out that their kids were head-over-heels in love. Would the parents approve of it or not?.
My Review
Firstly, I'm a fan of South African movies, and I've seen a lot of their movies, so I knew deep down inside of me I wasn't gonna be disappointed in this particular movie as well. So I decided to go on that journey of ninety minutes.
The movie started nicely, one scene coming after the other, then boom, all of a sudden, it felt like I skipped a particular scene; I was actually lost in my thoughts trying to figure out what had happened to the scene that was skipped because that part messed with my intelligence.
You can't tell me people fell in love in a day and started sharing some romantic moments that same day. On that same day, you are telling us, the viewers, that the relationship has been on for a while when these two families literally met a few days ago, according to the storyline.
If I'm gonna walk with sincerity, I'm gonna say this movie really didn't meet my expectations, the actions were very boring, sometimes I tried hard to laugh when they said there are so many funny scenes that would make you laugh to the point that you'd forget your worries "how come my worries are still staring at me".
I'm gonna rate this movie a 4/10 because of its boring nature, but then the cast did an amazing job, though I'm not gonna lie. Despite the movie not meeting my expectations and leaving me halfway on the edge of my seat.

Thanks for reading 🧡
Ouch..that was a poor rating! 😂
Hehehe. Glad I didn’t go ahead to watch it. I saw it on my Netflix and I kept contemplating if I should watch it or not but somehow, my mind isn’t clicking to it. I don’t want a movie I would be disappointed in the end making me waste my precious data 😃
