I do love the survival horror genre and Natalie Portman does a good job and is not hard to look at so this film moth be right up my alley. I skipped the spoiler parts so I could enjoy your review and preserve the surprise for viewing.

Intriguing that you were able to finish the book and jump right into the movie. I can’t recall doing that myself and usually find out years after that a film is being made. I bet that is a different experience.

Torn between waiting to see the movie til after reading the book (as I am in int middle of another one now) or just watching it and coming back for this post for discussion.

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the review!

Movie then book would be a different perspective all together. Still a very interesting one.

For me, I find book before movie lets my imagination cast the characters and get the whole story. Then, when the movie hits, I can appreciate the casting, and skill it takes to convert into a screen play.

The other way, I have the whole picture with faces, and just enjoy the ride while getting more of the story.

Not sure what I prefer quite yet.

Well you see, none of the characters in the book have names, and in the film, they don't really have... I can't say much else :P

They are both stunning.
