Amazon Prime Series - The Bondsman.
Recently, I was browsing the Amazon Prime Video catalog and came across a title that piqued my curiosity. This Latin American Spanish-language series is called "Demon Hunter," and while I'm not a big fan of action, this title delivered two things: action and horror. And I love horror, especially when it's paired with another film and television genre. As I mentioned earlier, horror with comedy is one of my favorites.
Recientemente, revisaba el catálogo de Amazon Prime Video, y me topé con un título que me dio un poco de curiosidad. Esta serie en español latinoamericano se llama “Cazador de Demonios”, y aunque no soy muy fanática de la acción, este título arrojaba 2 cosas: Acción y Terror. Y el terror me encanta y más cuando está junto a otro género del cine y la televisión, tal como he nombrado anteriormente, el terror con comedia es de mis favoritos.
The Bondsman tells the story of Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who dies in the middle of a mission against criminals, but everything changes when he's revived, as he begins to see things that are not at all normal. Upon learning why he was revived, he begins his hunt for demons. But looking beyond his work leads him to discover the truth behind all the events behind his demon hunt.
The Bondsman cuenta la historia de Hub Halloran, un cazarrecompensas que muere en medio de una misión contra unos delincuentes, pero todo da un giro al revivir, porque empieza a ver cosas que no son para nada normales. Al enterarse del porqué revivió, comienza su cacería de demonios. Pero mirar más allá de su trabajo lo lleva a descubrir la verdad detrás de todos los sucesos detrás de cazar demonios.
Music is present in this series, but not in the form of a musical, but rather as part of the lives of the protagonists of this series. Later on, we learn that the beloved Hub has a past that saddens him, and in this one, music and the guitar are one of the things that this character yearns for the most.
La música está presente en esta serie, pero no en forma de musical, sino como parte de la vida de los protagonistas de esta serie, más adelante nos vamos enterando de que el querido Hub tiene un pasado que lo entristece y en esta la música y la guitarra son una de las cosas que más añora este personaje.
With Jennifer Nettles' beautiful voice, we have scenes with beautiful music. I had no interest in this country style, but hearing this actress's beautiful voice and the beautiful rhythm of this type of music led me to look up this series' playlists on YouTube. She definitely earned the role she played, and even more so if it has an ending like the one this season had.
Con la hermosa voz de Jennifer Nettles, tenemos escenas con músicas muy hermosas, no tenía interés sobre este estilo Country, pero al escuchar la hermosa voz de esta actriz y el hermoso ritmo que tiene este tipo de músicas me llevo a buscar las listas de reproducción de esta serie en YouTube. Sin duda se ganó el papel que interpretó y más aún sí tiene un final como el que tuvo esta temporada.
While watching this series, I thought the demons shown here came from a book or something similar, but no, they were created for this series, except for two that are very well-known. Likewise, these demons had an origin within the series, and because of what these beings represent, they served a common purpose.
Mientras veía esta serie, pensé que los demonios que aquí muestran provenían de algún libro o algo parecido, pero no, son creados para esta serie, excepto 2 que son muy conocidos. De igual manera, estos demonios tenían un origen dentro de la serie y por lo que representan estos seres completaban un propósito en común.
Among the characters I liked the most are "Midge Kusatsu" played by Jolene Purdy and "Kitty Halloran" played by the great actress Beth Grant, these two actresses gave everything for their characters, they are really very funny, and they even feel what I consider empowered, and not only because they are 2 women, but because they played 2 unique characters.
Entre los personajes que más me agradaron están “Midge Kusatsu” interpretada por Jolene Purdy y “Kitty Halloran” interpretada por la gran actriz Beth Grant, estas dos actrices dieron todo por sus personajes, realmente son muy chistosas, y hasta se sienten lo que yo considero como empoderadas, y no solo por ser 2 mujeres, sino porque interpretaron 2 personajes únicos.
I actually thought this series would end in this one season, but it reminded me a bit of Squid Game in its second-season finale. It has a really good plot, but its story was cut in half for a second season. I mean, it didn't feel like a season finale at all. Maybe this is the new strategy to entice people to watch a series.
Realmente, creí que esta serie terminaría en esta única temporada, pero me recordó un poco a Squid Game en su final de la segunda temporada, tiene una trama muy buena, pero fue cortada su historia a la mitad para una segunda temporada. Me refiero a que no pareció para nada y en lo absoluto a un final de temporada, quizás esta es la nueva estrategia para atraer a las personas a ver una serie.

At first I thought another action series? But then reading it, I'm quite intrigued with the touch of horror. Added to my watch list and thanks for not giving too many spoilers
