Disney+ Serie - Chucky.
I never thought I'd be talking about this series; it's nothing personal, but when the second season first premiered, I decided to watch the latest installment featuring that possessed doll that haunted the dreams of so many of us, more than once. Chucky is undoubtedly one of the most well-known horror characters of all time—and how could he not be? He's one of the most iconic figures in cinema, past and present, so much so that almost 40 years later, he remains as relevant to adults as he is to children's nightmares.
Nunca pensé que hablaría sobre esta serie, no es algo personal, pero cuando recién estaba estrenada su segunda temporada me animé a ver lo que era el producto más reciente de aquel muñeco poseído que nos quitó el sueño a más de uno, en más de una oportunidad. Si bien, Chucky es de los personajes de terror más conocido de todos los tiempos, ¿y como no?, si este es de los seres más épicos que ha traído el cine pasado y presente, tanto así que en casi 40 años se mantiene más vigente en adulto como en las pesadillas de los niños.
So, I liked this series and I didn't at the same time, since in its second season there are a lot of events that don't add up and make the story a bit weak. In fact, I had stopped watching it halfway through the season, and then, three months ago, I got Disney+ through a promotion and realized there was already a third season, which encouraged me to go back to it. From there, I started the second season again, and I realized once more that what I didn't like about this season was that they got rid of characters I had grown attached to.
Entonces, esta serie me gustó y a la vez no, ya que en su segunda temporada hay una gran serie de eventos que no cuadran y hacen que tenga una historia un poco floja, de hecho, cuando iba a mitad de esta temporada había dejado de verla, y como hace 3 meses obtuve Disney+ en una promoción, pues me di cuenta de que ya había una tercera temporada, dándome ánimos de volver a esta. A partir de acá, volví a empezar la segunda temporada, y me volví a dar cuenta que lo que no me pareció de esta temporada es que se deshicieron de personajes con los que me había encariñado.
The acting in this series is horribly criticized, especially that of its protagonists, with one exception. While the acting feels very exaggerated on many occasions, the presence of Chucky, with his misogyny and dementia, makes his interactions with these characters epic. It makes me believe that the overacting is intentional, intended to give more weight to Chucky's pursuit of them and make you want to watch the series more, further exciting you with the doll's harassment of them.
La actuación en esta serie es horriblemente criticada, en especial las de sus protagonistas, exceptuando a una, pues esta se siente muy exagerada en muchas oportunidades, pero el hecho de que esté Chucky, con su misoginia y demencia hace que sus interacciones con dichos personajes sean épicas, haciéndome creer que es hasta intencional la sobreactuación para que tenga más peso la persecución que tiene Chucky contra ellos y te provoqué más ver la serie y que te emocione demás el acoso del muñeco hacia ellos.
While this series maintains the gory touch that characterized the films, its final season left me speechless, making it my overall favorite. I say this because there was one specific scene I couldn't even watch due to its intensity; it was extremely distressing and difficult to watch, and it had been a long time since a horror film or series had made me feel that kind of panic.
Si bien esta serie mantiene aquel toque de GORE que caracterizó a las películas. Esta serie me dejó impactada con su última temporada, volviéndose mi favorita en general. Esto lo digo basándonos en que hubo una escena en específica que no pude ni mirar por lo intensa que se torna, ya que es extremadamente desesperante y difícil de ver, y realmente tenía mucho tiempo que una película o serie de terror me hiciera sentir ese "pánico".
Since this series is a continuation of all the films, we get to see characters like Andy Barclay, Chucky's nemesis, and basically, the one who keeps him motivated to continue his killing spree. Jennifer Tilly is my favorite character, incredibly hilarious and timeless. I have to say, she carried the entire weight of the series on her shoulders in its final season, leaving me wanting more, as did the epic Glen/Glenda, who has one of the best character developments I've ever seen.
Como esta serie es continua a todas las películas, podemos ver a personajes como Andy Barclay, quien es él némesis de Chucky, y básicamente, el que lo mantiene con ánimos de seguir en la matanza. Jennifer Tilly, es mi chica favorita, un personaje sumamente hilarante que jamás pasa de moda, debo decir que ella fue la que llevó todo el peso de la serie en sus hombros en su última temporada, haciéndome desear más de esta, al igual que el épico Glen/Glenda, quien tiene uno de los mejores desarrollo de personajes que he visto.
So, if you ask me, I'd rank this series in terms of quality like this: Season 3, Season 1, and Season 2. And since I finished watching it, I've been so captivated that I've already recommended it to many friends who, like me, stopped watching during the second season because of its weak storyline. I should also mention that this series has been canceled, but like any good classic, it promises to return with more, since (according to its creator, Don Mancini) the killer doll will be back in a movie that's currently in development. The series finale promises more than ever, ensuring that the story of the Good Guy is never left behind.
Entonces, si me preguntan, esta serie la clasificaría en calidad así: Temporada 3, Temporada 1 y Temporada 2. Y desde que terminé de verla, he quedado tan fascinada, que ya la he recomendado con muchos amigos, que al igual que yo, dejaron de verla en su segunda temporada por la historia floja que tuvo. También, debo comentar que esta serie ha sido cancelada, pero como todo buen clásico, promete volver con más, ya que (dicho por su creador, Don Mancini), el muñeco asesino volverá con una película que está en desarrollo, ya que el final de la serie promete más que nunca, no dejando atrás por nada en el mundo a la historia del Buen Chico.
