Movie - Cube (1997)
Recently, I had a fever of watching Scape Room movies, after seeing Escape Room (2019) and its second installment, I really hadn't seen much about this type of movies and so I took advantage of watching some and among all of them I would like to talk about what could be considered the first Escape Room movie that has existed, originally from Canada, this has been in itself the most acclaimed movie with this theme, but how can I deny it if it is very well done.
Recientemente, tuve una fiebre de ver películas de Scape Room, luego de ver Escape Room (2019) y su segunda entrega, realmente no había visto mucho sobre este tipo de películas y así aproveche de ver algunas y entre todas quisiera hablar sobre la que se podría considerar como la primera película de Escape Room que ha existido, originaria de Canadá, esta ha sido en sí la película más aclamada con esta temática, pero como negarlo si está muy bien hecha.
Cube is about a group of people who, without explanation, appear in a kind of complex labyrinth that seems to be shaped like a cube and that puts everyone's lives at risk. As time goes by, they discover that this cube has a "solution", but it is even more entertaining when they discover all the secrets and solutions that each room seems to have.
Cube trata sobre un grupo de personas que sin explicación aparecen en una especie de laberinto complejo que parece tener forma de cubo y que pone en juego la vida de todos, mientras el tiempo va pasando, descubren que este cubo tiene "solución", pero es aún más entretenido al momento de descubrir todos los secretos y soluciones que parece tener cada habitación.
This film had sequels that so far have not managed to have the same impact, since the main theme of this one is to discover why they are there and what the objective of the cube is. The curious thing is to see that in itself there is no objective, nor motive, nor reason to be there, and that everything seems to be psychopath fun.
Esta película tuvo secuelas que hasta el momento no han logrado tener el mismo impacto, ya que el tema principal de esta es descubrir el porqué están allí y cuál es el objetivo del cubo, lo curioso es ver que en sí no hay un objetivo, ni motivo, ni razón por la cual estar ahí, y que todo parece ser diversión de psicópatas.
The performances in this film are admirable, my favorite of all was Nicky Guadagni's, she had the most human character of all, although her ending in the film was unexpected for me, this character won my admiration for the great performance that she gave, since she never had any bad intentions with any of the other characters and she was the most innocent of all there (as was Nicole de Boer's character).
Las actuaciones en esta película son admirables, mi favorito de todos fue la de Nicky Guadagni, tuvo el personaje más humano de todos, aunque su final en la película fue inesperado para mí, este personaje se llevó mi admiración por la gran actuación que hubo, ya que nunca tuvo alguna mala intención con ninguno de los demás personaje y era la más inocente de todos ahí (al igual que el personaje de Nicole de Boer).
I've read that some don't consider this film an Escape Room, but in my opinion, the fact that it has perfectly connected compartments and challenges is enough to classify it as such. I don't know if I should choose this film as my favorite in this vein, but when recommending a production like this, it deserves to mention Cube as one of the best gems, considering it's the first in cinematic history to have such a plot, and it's one of the most well-known Canadian films.
He leído que algunos no consideran esta película como un Escape Room, pero a mi parecer con que haya compartimientos perfectamente unidos y con dificultades es suficiente para clasificarla como tal. No sé si escoger esta película como mi favorita en esta temática, pero en recomendar una producción como esta, se merece tener que mencionar Cube como una de las mejores joyas, teniendo en cuenta que es la primera en la historia del cine en tener tal trama, siendo una de las películas canadienses más conocidas.
Among all the interesting points of the film, the aesthetics of the settings are spectacular, the designs of each of the cube's rooms are wonderful and somewhat psychedelic.
Entre todos los puntos interesantes de la película, la estética de los escenarios son espectaculares, los diseños de cada una de las habitaciones del cubo son maravilloso y algo psicodélicos.
If anyone has any recommendations for what to watch on Netflix and Amazon, I'd really appreciate it if you shared them. I'm currently reading a novel that I want to review after I finish it, as I have several points I want to touch on.
