The Lorax - Amazon Prime Video
Beyond the popular memes that have sprung up around this movie, I'd never actually seen the whole thing. But a few days ago I found it on Prime Video, and I decided to watch it, since a few days back, while watching reels on Facebook, I came across a video by Farid Dick, a psychologist and influencer who's very popular in Latin America and shares his reviews and critiques on many topics, especially everything related to film and television. He gave me a good review of it, and that's what encouraged me to watch it.
Más allá de los memes populares que existen gracias a esta película, nunca había visto la película completa. Pero hace unos días me la conseguí en Prime Video, y aproveché de verla, ya que hace unos días, mientras veía reels en Facebook, me apareció un video de Farid Dick, un psicólogo e influencer muy popular en Latinoamérica que comparte sus reseñas y críticas a muchos temas, en especial a todo lo relacionado con el cine y la televisión. Este me dio una buena reseña sobre esta y así me animé a verla.
The Lorax is an animated film that tells the story of a man who one day decided to cut down all the trees in existence, solely to make money after creating a successful product. Based on this, an era began where everything became completely artificial, yet people seemed content with it. Everything changes when Ted, a lovestruck boy, learns that his girlfriend wants to see a real tree and begins to gather information about them, leading them to challenge the artificial, commercial system they live under.
El Lorax es una película de animación que nos cuenta la historia de un hombre que un día decidió cortar todos los árboles que existían solo con la intención de hacer dinero, tras haber creado un producto que lo hizo exitoso. En base a esto, comenzó una era en donde todo empezó a ser totalmente artificial, pero aun así la gente parece conforme con esto. Todo cambia cuando Ted, un niño enamorado, al saber que ella quiere conocer un verdadero árbol, comienza a obtener información sobre ellos, llevándolos a desafiar el sistema falso y comercial en el que se encuentra.
Obviously, it's a film with a happy ending, but it makes us think more deeply about what we're doing today. With a catchy rhythm, it's bold yet realistic, leaving us wondering if we're really doing things right.
Obviamente, es una película de final feliz, pero que nos lleva a pensar más allá sobre lo que hacemos hoy en día. Con ritmo pegadizo, es descarada pero realista y nos deja pensando si de verdad estamos haciendo las cosas bien.
This film tells us that we must look beyond our own self-interest, that we must be more aware of the environment and what will be left for our descendants in the future, that everything will be better and, at least by taking care of the environment, everything else will be more than fine, as long as we continue to have fertile land.
Esta película nos dice que debemos mirar más allá de nuestro interés, que seamos más conscientes con el ambiente y con lo que quedará para nuestros descendientes en el futuro, que todo sea mejor y, al menos cuidando el ambiente, todo lo demás estará más que bien, mientras sigamos teniendo una tierra fértil.
Among all the details I enjoyed, I found it interesting how they manipulate society there and how they sell them a false reality that, however aesthetically perfect it may be, leads to dependency and enslavement with extra steps, and those who control everything are the ones who benefit the most without scruples. This is what reminds me most of reality, with everything that's happening today, and we say nothing and let ourselves be led and allowed to do whatever they want with our way of life.
Entre todos los detalles que me agradaron, me pareció interesante cómo manipulan a la sociedad ahí y cómo les venden una falsa realidad que, por más que sea perfecta estéticamente, los lleva a la dependencia con esclavitud con pasos extras, y quienes controlan todo son los que más se benefician sin escrúpulos. Esto es lo que más me recuerda a la realidad, con todo lo que pasa hoy en día, y no decimos nada y nos dejamos llevar y hacer todo lo que quieran con nuestra manera de vivir.
I truly enjoyed the entire film, with all its details and fantastic animation. This movie is engaging, clever, funny, and educational; beyond all my expectations, I loved it immensely and found the experience delightful.
Realmente, disfruté toda la película, con todos sus detalles y su animación fantástica. Esta película es atractiva, ingeniosa, divertida y educativa; más allá de todo lo que había idealizado sobre ella, esta me gustó demasiado y me pareció grato el momento.
So far, I totally understand all the references and memes, and I think everyone should see it, since it's for everyone and a great way to pass the time. It's available here in Colombia on Prime Video, but if you check, you might find it elsewhere, as the content varies by country.
Hasta ahora sí entiendo totalmente esas referencias y memes que existen, y creo que todos deben verla, ya que esta es para todos y muy buena para pasar el momento. Esta está disponible aquí en Colombia en Prime Video, pero si revisas, quizás la encuentres en otro lado, ya que el contenido cambia según tu país.
