Hello anime lovers, welcome to another blog. Today I will be reviewing Drifting Home. A friend of mine suggested that I watch this anime, so here I am. To be honest, it's an awesome movie, and you can learn many things from it. This movie was released in 2022, but I didn't know about it until someone suggested that I watch it. The genres are fantasy, mystery, adventure, and drama. I hoped that it was going to be fun. And it was true; I really enjoyed watching it very much.

So, as you can see, there are kids in the movie, and it's a rollercoaster ride. There are many scenes where I got confused when I saw the buildings floating in the water, so I thought there was a natural disaster or something like that, but that's not true. It's more than what we see in the trailer. Well, as a person who gets easily attached to places and things, this movie hits hard. The movie is fun but emotional at the same time, so it's going to be a tough journey when you watch it.

The story begins with a girl whose name is Natsume Tonai. She's 11 years old and in sixth grade. Kosuke is Natsume's childhood friend, but as time passed, their relationship seems tense as they keep avoiding each other. So, during their summer vacation, they went to a housing complex that is scheduled to be destroyed. They grew up there, and this place holds a lot of their memories. One day, while they were at the complex with their friends, they somehow got caught up in a strange phenomenon, and after a while, they regained consciousness. They found themselves in an entire ocean, as the complex had drifted into a mysterious sea. They are trying to survive and go back to their previous world as their adventure begins.

Well, I never knew that this movie had already taken a place in my heart after watching it. To be honest, it was a heartfelt movie; I could not get enough of it. This movie teaches us about grief and change. The use of music and the incredible animation truly make you feel the story. Every character has their own significant role and is very unique. There was a character who was a bully, which successfully annoyed me a lot. I really didn't like this character at all. That means the writer did a really good job of writing the character. The ending was so perfect that I could not complain about it because it was unexpected.

My personal favorite is Noppo; I love everybody else too. From start to end, I liked everything. Such a good story that I ended up watching it 3 times in a row. One thing I truly didn't like is that the character build and progression are really slow. The heartbreaking thing about this anime is that it ends. The things I have learned from this movie are that one should move on from the past, it's better not to stay angry with someone for a long time, and everyone has different problems in their life that they don't talk about, so it's better to respect their opinions.
