Hello anime lovers, today's anime movie is Princess Mononoke. When I first heard the name, I thought it was a story about a princess, but that's not the case; there's much more. We shouldn't judge it by its name. It's an interesting story because it's unique, as always. Ghibli movies are something special. Hayao Miyazaki has never failed to impress his audiences, so I will always watch any of his work blindly. It's been a long time since I have been reviewing his movies; in fact, I feel heavenly good whenever I watch one of his films. So today, I will review this anime movie for you guys.

Okay, so the trailer voiceover is really deep; I was mesmerized by it. The story is about a war and the god of the forest. We get to see a princess and a brave warrior; I think they are the main protagonists of the story. The fighting scenes gave me goosebumps, and I was very eager to see more of them. I also wanted to find out the reason why they are after the god and what the princess has to do with it. The trailer didn't clarify my thoughts, so to know more, I had to watch this anime movie, which was 2 hours and 13 minutes long. That's not much; I didn't feel the time pass as it went by really quickly.

The story begins with the last prince of the Emishi tribe; his name is Ashitaka. One day, a giant boar demon came into his village, and to protect the people, Ashitaka risked his life. Later, he got himself cursed by killing the demon boar, Nago. His right arm became marked because the curse was spreading on his skin. It was found that the curse would spread all over his body, and he would die as well. Then he was banished from his village and had to cut his hair because of the curse. Ashitaka later discovered another place, which is Irontown. He helped some soldiers and got the chance to enter their place as he was on his way to find the god of the forest. Ashitaka thought the god of the forest would heal him, so he wanted to find him.

On his journey, he met San, who is the princess. She hated human beings, even though she was a human, as she stated that the wolf goddess is her family. She also has two wolf god pups as her own brothers. The princess wants to save the forest, and she is against the villagers, as the people of Irontown are cutting down the trees and hurting the creatures that live in the forest. The leader of Irontown, Lady Eboshi, has prepared soldiers, and they are preparing to kill the god of the forest, as they want to take his head because she had a deal with Jigo. On the other hand, there's Asano, a samurai who seeks to exploit the iron-rich lands of Irontown.

There are many stories in one movie; every character has their own goal and their own story. This is so overwhelming; every one of them has their own reasons for doing what they want to gain. I actually could not tell who the actual villain is, but I could say Ashitaka is the fairest among them all. He is honest, and he knows what he wants; he does not want to do any injustice to anyone. I was impressed by his character; it was so attractive to watch him. I really look up to these types of characters the most. The visuals were beautiful, and the story has a unique flavor. I liked how this story was not about romance; it was an adventurous journey.
