Vertigo

I built myself a skyscraper for the sole purpose of climbing onto the railing of my top-floor balcony one foot over the other side, and grabbing on the ledge, hugging it with both hands.

I thought to myself I will just hold on and relax for an hour and it will eventually go away. I could finally look down and feel free and steady sitting there and holding onto nothing.

Nope.

I wanted off, immediately. I seriously had to get back inside! But I found my hands stuck to the ledge, I couldn't even move them, let alone take them off and pull myself in.

After having called out for help since I got stuck there, not being able to move, walking the corridor with the security who eventually managed to pull me in, I said to the man: "Why on Earth is it so hard, it isn't like it's a closed door or a cramped room."

The man looked puzzled and replied: "You can't fall from either of those."

Then I woke up.

It's the first post since I joined steemit on which I don't know what to say 😑
Though I wanna say just "Have good dream some other time."

avatar

Hey, now it all makes sense ... in the course of reading I felt a little confused and at the same time with a bit of laughter for your story, those dreams happen to all of us

avatar

Happened with me many times in dream i was about to die and thankfully i woke up then.

avatar

hahaha, now I understand that everything was a dream ... everything felt so real when it came to reading it, this kind of dreams of staying stuck to something and not being able to move are disturbing

avatar

What a great dream you had, now is the time to sleep in my country and I hope not to dream about something like yours hehehehe

avatar

Hahaha...a nice dream..you had dream but I have done this practice many time at my home.this has always been a risky step but I enjoyed it alot..my mother always did care about me and forbade me doing this.but it was a nice experience.

avatar

Nice dream. But be careful. It can damage you. Wish you good luck.

avatar

Wow is it my fantasy or reality, great and awesome work.

avatar

The image was not clear but I understand that there is a skyscraper. When I did some new one I will check it's quality by other, my check that myself leads to incident like this 😂 because we know our performance on that we did.

avatar

@gamer00,
"Then I woke up."
Ha ha actually I thought that was a real experience :D Did you take this photography?

Cheers~

avatar

I wish I'd be rich enough to build skyscrapers, but the experience itself, dream or not, is real enough. :)

Yes I had to take the photo right away, after seeing the dream and waking up.

avatar

Your dream is interesting , but i hope you are be careful sir .

Thanks for sharing your dream @gamer00

Upvote you ..

The man had wise words for you. Or is it that your subconscious had wise words for you.

But is falling off from something worse than doors not opening or having no space?

avatar

I would guess that since they are all phobias, they all weigh as the worst in the mind of the phobic depending on his phobia.

avatar

JAJAJAJAJAJA what a bad dream. Friend Jaro, I was impressed. and the first thing I thought was. God sure his wife is going to scold him for doing that. Until it reaches the end of the reading. I could laugh a long time before writing.
You have writer's gifts. Of course that's what the reading gives ...

avatar

Thank you! I never thought I was a good writer, but maybe I sort of am, after all I've gotten some practice while writing stuff on the Internet. :)

I wonder how my wife would feel if I were to cling onto our balcony like that. ;)

avatar

JAJAJA Better not try, unless you want to be scolded. For our wives in some cases, I repeat in some cases and only in those cases, we are always like children. Hahaha

avatar

It's true that happens to me. especially when I do extreme sports that she does not like.

avatar

Nasty business that vertigo thing. I suffered it for a while as a child, then I jumped off our kitchen roof with an umbrella and realised that I could get a handle on this issue. The dreams are worse, I often just fall asleep and find myself falling from a tall building. Wonder what causes it?

avatar

Yeah, it may be that the experience itself makes you more used to the fear. But when you are asleep, you don't have the same faculties of sense (or memory) that you have when you are awake. That might lead to more scary experiences.

avatar

I hear you, falling off a building in your sleep will make you shit yourself.

avatar

@gamer00 - Sir I think you are at the 5th floor of the building while photography this...

+W+

avatar

Yes, we live on the fifth floor, but the building is really 8 story high if we count the "basement", the ground floor and the attic (the technical floor, for water and elevator maintenance).

avatar

Lolz dreams can be so real sometimes ;)

avatar

They say if you fall off a building and don't wake up in your sleep that you actually die from a heart attack. You are starting to write more and that is a good thing.

avatar

I must say that while most people do wake up just before immediate death in their dream, when I was in my twenties, I had recurring dreams where I actually slept through my own varying deaths. But that was mainly because of my own depression and being tired all the time. I'm pretty glad those days are gone.

avatar

I am glad that is behind you now. That sounds terrible. depression is a serous thing and looks like it is fairly common now.

avatar

Don't know what it means but I'm scared of heights as well. I think it is a smart way to be.

avatar

I'm a little scared height, but I'm more afraid to publish something written by me and ended with me falling for criticism, that requires courage :) you're a good storyteller, I almost thought you had become addicted to adrenaline ahaha.
