Disclosure day is an American science fiction thriller movie made by steven Spielberg. The movie was directed when the world was on the brink of a war, when people heard that Steven Spielberg was making a new sci-fi movie, everyone got incredibly excited. This is the man who gave us classics like E.T. and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, so people's expectation were high. his film, Disclosure Day, is a very different from his older movie, and more confusing. Instead of showing aliens as aliens, they were seen as animals(deer, bird and fox), this film feels more like a tense political thriller. It focuses on a big question: what would actually happen to the world if we found out for sure that aliens are real? While the movie looks great and has amazing suspense, it ends up being a film that will really divide your minds.

In this movie, Emily Blunt plays Margaret Fairchild, a normal weather reporter living in Kansas City. Her life completely changes when she suddenly starts speaking a strange, alien language right during a live TV broadcast, no one could understand what she was saying at that moment, until daniel kellner read it because of his ability to decript every kind of maths. Soon, she meets Daniel Kellner, cyber security. Daniel is a computer expert who used to work for a secretive government contractor named wardex. He stole data that proves the government has been hiding alien life for decades. Together, Margaret and Daniel are being hunted by wardex went on a run across the country. They are chased by a wardex boss named Noah Scanlon, who wants to stop them before they tell the world the truth about the aliens existence and the torture.

As a pure little action and suspense movie, I think Disclosure Day is highly entertaining to those who love suspense movie but I'm not normally a fan. Spielberg has a way of making such kind of movies. There is an incredible scene that kept me on the edge of my seat, especially when kellner burst into the house with a car to take his girlfriend because noah teleported and was controlling her. The acting is also top-notch. Emily Blunt does a fantastic job showing how scary and overwhelming it would feel to have your mind connected to an alien presence, and what i like about her the most, when people wanted to start worshipping her, she rejected that, i love it. kellner is also great as he stressed-out partner. However, the script has some major issues that hold it back. After a great start, the middle of the movie gets more confusing to me. The characters just run from one hiding spot to another, which starts to feel different. The film shows the entire world instantly believing the alien news and coming together in peace.

Disclosure Day is a well made and fast paced thriller, but it does not quite deliver on its big ideas. The ending is bound to frustrate a lot of people, especially me. i expect them to show us the aliens or giving us a big, satisfying alien, maybe they come to earth for some purpose or to invade but nothing like that, they just show some animals. Some viewers might like this mysterious choice, but it left me feeling a bit empty and disappointed. If you love Spielberg or sci-fi, it is definitely worth watching for the great acting and action. Just do not expect it to become an instant classic like his older films.
