CineTV Contest: Bean; A Classic Comedy Film.

Hello CineTV. It’s good to be back here with my favorite comedy movie. As we all know, comedy movies aim at entertaining the watchers or audiences through the usage of humor.
Talking about my best comedy movie takes me back to the days of Mr. Bean. I remember very well how I used to laugh till my sides hurt.

I’m a fanatic of comedy movies and I’ve watched countless comedy movies like The Hangover, Bridemaids, Clueless and others but nothing beats my favorite. My best comedy movie will continue to be Bean, a British comedy film directed by Mel Smith. I still have a fresh memory of this movie even though I watched it when I was much younger and I watched it countless times until the disc started to crack.

Mr. Bean, an unintentional destructive guard at the National Gallery in London was sent on a three-month sabbatical to represent them for unveiling the painting of Whistler’s Mother.
Then, the art curator, David Langley offers to accommodate Mr. Bean for two months without the support of his family members.

Alison Langley, David’s wife who wasn’t cool with the presence of Bean moves out of the house with her two kids after some of their prized possessions got accidentally damaged by Mr. Bean when he got arrested at the airport.

Eventually, David realized that Bean knows nothing about arts and is just a representative. After Whistler’s Mother was delivered to the gallery, Mr. Bean accidentally sneezes on it and tried to clean it with a lacquer thinner which wipes the whole part off especially the figure face.
Without the knowledge of anyone, Mr. Bean replaces the artwork with a fake one but looks like the original and won the crowd’s approval on the next day after speaking on behalf of David.

Then, one of the officers at the park informs David that his daughter has been injured by a car. On getting to the hospital with David, Mr. Bean was mistaken for a doctor and he miraculously pulled out a bullet from a patient with his hands. Mistaken for a doctor, he was able to wake David’s daughter and after the family thanked him, he went back home secretly with the Whistler’s Mother painting.

How has this movie influenced me and the people around me

What if I told you that it made me smarter? Just as a kid who I was, I could as well make all the silly mistakes which Mr. Bean made but watching the movie with my siblings, I realized that an ordinary lacquer thinner can be used to clean an artwork or anything that sticks to something.

It made me wiser. Mr. Bean was just an innocent man who makes silly mistakes and I was able to learn from them. At the same time, being gullible can bring out something good out of it too.

Do I have a favorite scene?

Yes, I do. Just have a look at the scene where Mr. Bean almost got arrested. Then, I got to know that an escalator has a route. There is one that lifts people and one that takes them down.

Just when Mr. Bean was about to get arrested. He tried running down on the upper escalator but he couldn’t go down. That felt like the most scene that portrays comedy. If funny was a person, then, it should be Mr. Bean.

What do I like about the movie?

I liked how Mr. Bean helped the guy removed the bullet from his body and how he revived David’s daughter. Do you know what that implies? It means that there is something good that can come out of mistakes.

Even though he was used to making mistakes, his act still caused him to save a life. At the end, I applauded after watching the movie for the ninth time.

I’ll surely recommend Bean to anyone who wants to laugh till their side hurts. Bean is a highly recommended movie for my comedy lovers. It deserves a 9/10 rating from me. If you give it a watch, you’ll surely watch it again.
