Movie Review ~ Elio

Image
Elio doesn't quite reach the level of masterpiece that defined Pixar's golden age; however, it has that unmistakable touch that the studio has mastered to perfection: a blend of tenderness, humor, and emotion that connects naturally with the viewer.
Its story grabs you from the very beginning and maintains its pace without ever faltering. There are no filler scenes or unnecessary pauses; everything flows with a lightness that is greatly appreciated.

The main characters are an absolute success. Elio has that combination of naivety and courage that makes him charming, although it is his alien companion who almost steals the show.
This friendly extraterrestrial brings an unexpected warmth, as well as starring in some of the most comical and moving moments in the story. Together they form a fascinating duo that manages to sustain a plot that becomes increasingly rich and engaging.

The design of the alien worlds and characters is another highlight. It is creative, vibrant, and full of details that deserve to be enjoyed on the magic of the big screen. Pixar continues to demonstrate its ability to bring visually stunning and imaginative environments to life.
Although Elio may not be one of the studio's most ambitious films, it is undoubtedly one of the most honest and endearing they have produced in recent years. Going to the cinema to see it guarantees an experience full of laughter, emotion, and deep warmth, with a story that touches the heart and leaves a smile on your face as you leave the theater.

It is unfortunate that Elio is not receiving the attention it deserves, being such a tender, funny, and emotional work within Pixar's recent catalog. In addition, it holds an important surprise that the trailers do not reveal (or perhaps they do, but in such a subtle way that it goes unnoticed).
Hopefully, more viewers will give it a chance. It's the kind of movie that deserves to be enjoyed in a theater, surrounded by people who share the laughter and emotions.
Elio is a story that, without excessive pretensions, manages to make you feel better at the end of the screening. And that's very commendable. Pixar may not always give us a Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, or Up, but Elio maintains truly admirable standards of quality.

I saw this film on my FYP on MovieBox but I skipped it because I thought it to be another animated boring sci-fi film. But with this review, I think I judged it too fast. I’ll add it to my to-watch list. Thanks for sharing.
