Cinetvcontest #134...Encanto (2021) review.
Pleasant greetings to you all.
This week's prompt for the #cinetvcontest is one that I am very delighted about. Disney movies were my favourite while growing up and till date, I'm still a fan.
My choice for favourite Disney movie is one that I can only describe as “enchanting” and “very entertaining”. The movie is titled Encanto and it was released in 2021. Encanto happens to be an animated musical film produced by Walt Disney.
Plot
The movie follows the journey of grandma Alma Madrigal who lost her husband Pedro Madrigal in a conflict but she was blessed by a magical candle that created a magical house called Casita and a magical border that protected Alma and her little triplets.
Many years later, Alma's triplets were grown up and married with kids and those kids were also grown up and the village was thriving beautifully. The Madrigals enjoyed the protection of the candle as it grants gifts to Alma's descendants when they turn five but there was something eating deep within the Casita that was making everyone anxious and sorrowful.
One of Alma's grand-daughter named Mirabel didn't receive a gift and this made her feel not so special but when the Casita was in danger, Mirabel took it upon herself to find a solution to help the Casita and save the magic. This led to a lot of secrets being revealed and reconciliation.
What I liked and learnt from the movie
I really enjoyed watching this movie. I also enjoyed the musicals that followed the story plot so smoothly. The picture quality was very good and the story plot was delivered seamlessly.
The movie teaches the need for us to value and appreciate our loved ones irrespective of their abilities and flaws, strengths and weaknesses.
The movie teaches that everyone is unique in their own right and we should love them just the way they are.
I liked how grandma Alma and Mirabel reconciled at the end, showing the beauty in forgiveness and reconciliation.
What I disliked about the movie
I didn't like the way Bruno was prejudiced and ostracized because they were all afraid of his predictions. This was his gift and he had no control over it yet he was despised for it but thankfully, Bruno was reconciled to his family because of Mirabel in the end.
Most enjoyable scene
The scene that I enjoyed the most was the part where Mirabel began to inquire about Bruno from her family but she was stopped and told a series of his doom predictions which were portrayed in song form. “We don't talk about Bruno” is a timeless classical musical.
This movie is a great movie that speaks volumes on appreciation, family values and gratefulness. I liked the optimistic nature of Mirabel who did not allow her lack of magical powers to deter or dampen her spirits and it paid off in the end.
I rate this classical and enjoyable movie a cool 8.5 stars out of 10. I loved the songs and the plot flowed seamlessly. Moreover I found the movie to be very touching.
Here's the trailer…..enjoy.
This is my entry to the #cinetvcontest for #134.
