Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
First off, I believe that all the Potterheads are going to love this one. Concerning works of J.K. Rowling, I believe I have a confession to make, but I’d rather not be stoned to death by the movie community, so I guess it’s safe to get right into it. If you’re a lover of fantasy and you haven’t seen this, I do wonder what you have seen. This is one of those movies that sort of stays with you in a way...
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (2016)
Written by J. K. Rowling in her debut as a screenwriter and directed by David Yates, this movie, which is the first installment in the Fantastic Beasts series and also doubles as a prequel to the Harry Potter film, tells the story of Newt. Now set in 1926, Newt Scamander arrives New York City, but then a magical creature known as a niffler escapes from Newt’s expandable suitcase.
In a bid to catch this creature, Newt bumps into Jacob, who is an aspiring baker, and, unknown to them, they exchange suitcases. While other events occur to Newt, Jacob gets home and opens the switched suitcase, unwittingly releasing several magical creatures into the city. He was even bitten by one. This movie centres on every means involved in catching these fantastic beasts.
I just love that this movie is a prequel to the Harry Potter film, and for anyone who's seen Harry Potter, you’re filled with that sense of foreboding cause you already know what is to come. You will feel disappointed, though, if you’re expecting Harry Potter-type magic on this movie. It took a different turn in a more fantasy, less dark way that some people may not like, but I believe was just okay.
This is the kind of movie I doubt you could have all the words to describe. It’s just beautiful creatures and magic. I love that it was set in 1926 because it just fits the theme. I read that the movie won an Academy Award for Best Costume, and it’s fitting because the costumes were everything. Nothing too much or overly done. Just right.
I also love how all the creatures have distinct personalities. Some of them were kind, laid back and caring, while some others were feisty and could be seen as straight-up mean, but it flows right with the narrative that all creatures are different, and you cannot employ the same method in placating or even pleasing them.
It’s easy to get lost in the narrative arcs because it could get overwhelming with the diverse subplots that are instituted into the film, one of which includes the rise of a super villain. It doesn’t diminish the thrill this movie gives, but it could get a lot depending on how you see it.
Either way, this movie is a delightful piece, and can I just say, it’s a type you will not be opposed to seeing more than once? And I’m most certainly glad I fall into that latter category. Hope you enjoy, fantasy lovers!

I have watched this movie and it was really delightful seeing all those magical beasts. Plus the name newt was funny and he acts like one too 😁
Anyways the movie is great and I have watched the second installment which is Fantastic beasts; the crime of Grindelwald. Also very enchanting.
The first one was ok but the others were poor.
Maybe if we didn't have harry potter first that was so good but i was disappointed with these.
If I had to choose, I would choose the Harry Potter universe. But I enjoyed reading your review, and I'm glad you're such a big fan of this part of the story of this universe.
This is an incredible movie, I have watched many times and it keeps being entertained for me. Great post👌
