The BeeKeeper~My Review

Hi movie lovers! It's been a minute but here I am again doing another movie review.
This movie I'm about to review was given a kind of hype I rarely see with other movies. It wasn't hyped like a regular movie. It was given this hype attributed to irregular, great standards and exceptionally exciting films.
The movie I’ll be reviewing is called Bee Keeper.
The Beekeeper is actually one of those action movies that’s kind of straightforward but still makes sure to deliver a good time especially if you’re into revenge kind of stories. Jason Statham was featured as Adam Clay. He is a quiet, no-nonsense guy that's living in the countryside. At first glance, he seems like someone who is retired and just wants to be left alone with his bees; yeah, literally, he is a beekeeper.

But if you're conversant with Jason Statham, you'll know that there’s more to him than meets the eye.

THE PLOT
The movie begins when Clay’s elderly friend and landlord, Eloise, falls victim to scammers. It's one of those fake tech support calls where scammers would pretend to be from a security company and convince people to give them access to their bank accounts. But unfortunately, she ends up losing everything she had ever worked for in her entire life, and what was more heartbreaking is that she killed herself. It’s really brutal, and that is what really sets the tone for what is to come.

Clay is very devastated, but the prevailing feeling was utmost anger. And this is when the truth about his real identity shows up. He wasn't just a peaceful farmer; rather he used to be part of a secret group called “The Beekeepers.” It’s basically an off-the-books black ops organization that was created to deal with situations when the traditional justice system fails. Immediately Clay decides to take action, it becomes very clear that nothing and no one is going to stop him.

From here, the film metamorphoses into a full-blown revenge mission. Clay makes sure to go after everyone that is responsible for the scam. It is not just the people on the phones; he included the people funding and protecting the entire operation. It turns out that this scam is just a small part of a much larger web of corruption that involved politicians, businessmen, and even government agencies. But Clay made sure to sweep through it all like a swift machine. So calm, relentless, and very, very efficient.

The action in this movie is so solid throughout the entire film. Our star character, Jason Statham is not that flashy, but personally, that’s kind of what makes him so fun to watch. He does well to just get the job done.

MY REVIEW
The plot is kind of exaggerated. Think about it; doesn't the idea of a secret society of ex-millitary beekeepers sound like something drawn out of a comic book? But somehow, the movie makes it make sense. It doesn’t try to be overly serious or too deep; it just focuses on delivering an entertaining, exhilarating ride.

Overall, The Beekeeper is one of those movies that doesn’t need to be groundbreaking to be enjoyable. It’s so clean with simple action and a tiny bit of emotional weight. The movie really gives you exactly what you came for. If you like revenge stories or are a fan of Statham’s style, this movie definitely is worth your time.

I'll definitely give this movie a rating of 7.5 out of 10 since it gives me this sharp, satisfying revenge vibe amongst other feelings.

I leave you with the movie trailer

I'm actually thinking of watching this movie again. I loved it. I felt for Eloise and I could imagine such situation where she couldn't believe all she ever worked for all her life was taken away just with a button.
Then, Clay came on. I love his actions. I never thought he was this guy with some tactics to destroy the wicked people but he acted it brilliantly.
