Warfare - The truth behind the combat with a realistic reconstruction [ENG/SPA]
Hi community, I finally got to see "Warfare," and ever since I saw its trailer, which by the way you can find at the end of this post, I was really excited because war-based movies are among my favorites. Right off the bat, I can tell you that I categorize it as a realistic experience; it's literally the closest you can get to living through a war firsthand. The movie recounts the events in a way that makes you feel like you're right there, so for those who are easily unnerved, it's an experience I'd recommend avoiding. It might seem slow at first because it's literally depicting real-life events, where only the timing is being adjusted.

It's based on a real Navy SEALs mission in Ramadi, Iraq, in 2006, where we see a platoon occupying a civilian house for tactical operations, observing enemy movement, but unbeknownst to them, an ambush is brewing all around them. What's remarkable is that the story is reconstructed from the memories of the soldiers involved, especially co-director Rey Mendoza, who lived through the events and recreates them with impressive rawness and extraordinary realism. It's filmed in real-time and has no background music so you can appreciate the sound of every aspect of the environment, allowing you to immerse yourself in the chaos of combat. If you're going to watch it, I recommend the theater or having a good sound system at home.

You might find it slow at first, just like I did, but you soon realize why, as it avoids all the clichés of war movies. There are no heroes or motivational speeches; it's just the visceral experience of war from the perspective of those who lived it, and there's no room for glorifying anything. Great care was taken so that we can appreciate the experience of the combatant, how young soldiers feel fear, pain, and anxiety. "Warfare" feels completely different from any other war movie. There's no winner; it's raw and immersive, and it conveys a clear message: in war, what's important is survival.

If you want something truly realistic, watch "Best in Hell".
It's notionally fiction made by Wagner PMC. In reality it's basically a docudrama about the Battle of Popasnaya and shows it from both sides with brutal intensity and fairness. It's better in Russian, the English subtitles aren't very accurate.
This movie is realistic in its own way, I've never seen the one you mentioned, I'll investigate to see what it's like.
