Serie review: Playing Gracie Darling/ El juego de Gracie Darling
Good afternoon, movie-loving community! Yesterday I finished watching this series, which, by the way, was recently released on Netflix. This Australian series is supernatural horror, and it caught my attention when I first saw the trailer. I really like horror movies, but to be honest, I don't always find something truly interesting. The plot seemed very repetitive to me, like the ones you always see in this genre, but I decided to give it a chance and, I swear, I was not disappointed. The story goes beyond the classic ghost story, and the series is so well done that it's hard to stop watching.

Esta serie australiana es de género terror sobrenatural y me llamó la atención por primera vez cuando vi el tráiler. Me gusta mucho el cine de terror pero, para ser honesta, no siempre encuentro algo realmente interesante. Su argumento me pareció muy repetido, como esos que siempre vez de este género, sin embargo decidí darle una oportunidad y, les juro, que no me decepcionó. La historia va más allá del clásico de fantasmas y la serie está tan bien hecha que cuesta dejarla.

Gracie Darling's game mixes a crime thriller, the disappearance of a young woman under suspicious circumstances, and supernatural horror with Ouija board games, as she disappears after conducting a séance in an abandoned cabin in the woods. I think the plot is very well told; it grabs you to such an extent that it's hard to stop watching. We don't know what really happened to the young people until almost the end, and we're always wondering if what happened was related to demonic possession or if it was simply the work of some perpetrator who kidnapped the girl.
El juego de Gracie Darling mezcla un thriller policial, la desaparición de una joven en circunstancias sospechosas, y el terror sobrenatural con el juego de la ouija; ya que esta desaparece luego de hacer una sesión espiritista en una cabaña abandonada en el bosque. La trama me parece muy bien contada, te atrapa a tal punto que es difícil dejar de ver. No sabemos qué ocurre realmente con los jóvenes hasta casi el final y siempre nos preguntamos si lo que pasó tiene relación con una posesión diabólica o si simplemente fue obra de algún perpetrador que secuestró a la chica.
The story begins when Joni, a child psychologist who witnessed the game, returns to her hometown due to the recent disappearance of another girl (the niece of the previous one), which causes a stir in the community. The plot then unfolds between the time of Gracie Darling's disappearance and the present day. Those years will set the pace for what is to come. From the beginning, we see four friends, Joni, Gracie, Anita, and a boy named Jay, playing with a Ouija board. The séance takes a macabre turn when the spirit they connect with, named Levi, begins to control Gracie's body. Three of the teenagers manage to leave the cabin, but Gracie Darling remains trapped there in a trance and then disappears.
La historia comienza cuando Joni, una psicóloga infantil que fue testigo del juego, regresa a su pueblo natal debido a la nueva desaparición de otra chica (sobrina de la anterior), que causa revuelo en la comunidad. Entonces nos preguntamos, ¿a estas chicas las hizo desaparecer un demonio o pasó algo más? Y entonces la investigación de Joni, y su obligada pero necesaria vuelta a los recuerdos de su pasado, comienza. Los secretos que guarda la comunidad empiezan a ver la luz.
