The Jewel Thief: The Sun Diamond

Hello movie lovers, what is life if we are not living the dream we want or at least watching it on screen? I have always loved movies about heists, and since Money Heist, I haven't gotten a nice one until recently. I found a movie about a heist on Netflix, and did it live up to its reputation, as the title says? Well, you will have to read through to find out.

The Jewel Thief is a Bollywood film; it's a 2025 film that was released on Netflix and from the trailer, you would love the film until you watch it.

The storyline.

The film is about a jewel thief who is known in the underworld. He has broken into different jewelry stores in the past and has never been caught once. Many people know him for his smooth work, but a man found his weakness, which was his family.

He has a father and a brother whom he had cut ties with, but after discovering they were in danger and the person responsible was an evil man, he had no choice but to help the man, who still had a jewel called the Sun Jewel that belonged to an African king.

The thief's name is Raja. Raja was threatened by this vicious crime lord to steal the sun jewel and if he can't, his family will be in danger. Raja had no choice but to work with this crime lord to steal the jewel but in the end, he double-crossed the crime lord while putting him against a bigger crime lord.

At the end, Raja got away with the jewel, but the police were still on him.

My opinion

Probably because I have watched so many interesting heist films, this film felt rushed, and their explanation of how they were going to steal the jewel doesn't feel right.

A man enters a jewel bank with all security intact, 20 policemen watching, and security cameras, and he escapes, which was also part of his plan.
It was funny how the police let him escape and how they couldn't see through everything he was doing. The characters weren't well developed, and some scenes were cut short, probably because they were trying to make sure the time wasn't too long but in the end, it was a lovely ending. One part about the film I love was how they explain how the heist would go with practical demostration, and the use of technology. It was quite intensed.

I love that Raja didn't just steal the jewel for himself but he also stole or saved the crime lord's wife for himself and took her for himself. Type sh*t.

The film turned out to be an interesting film, I would rate it a 6/10 and what about recommendation. Since I was able to watch it and I enjoyed the film, I would recommend it for anyone who love heist film.
