The first words that come to my mind anytime I remember this movie is, 'Phucking Diabolical' (In Billy Butcher's voice). Now don't mind the fact that it's a relatively old movie, it's still wonderful. Vin Diesel gave us yet another masterpiece, this time, without the car focus, but still a little family-focus😝

It started relatively well, with him playing the hero, as you would expect him to do, only for it to get dark really fast. You'd think getting his wife murdered before his eyes with him following suit is the worst they could do, but no. They dug deeper for oil, hit rock bottom, pierced it and went straight to the abyss. Definitely not what I expected from a sci-fi movie. Let's start with the good parts:

Seeing his upgraded physicality and new capabilities, I was like, "Cool". That's why I was there after all. I don't think I've mentioned, but I'm a sci-fi junkie.. Watching, dissecting, researching and understanding the various science and tech shenanigans used in movies makes me feel high, on top the world. So I was a little impressed with what they accomplished with the superior technology shown, especially as I could understand how it worked, thanks to years of unhealthy sci-fi movies/books consumption. Here, they took a dead man, injected him with nanites that completely fused with his blood and became his blood, which drastically boosted his regenerative capacity and brought him back somehow with his memories... Okay, that part doesn't fully make sense, but what can we do? Anyways, Vin Diesel was the perfect man for the job as they needed a calm, composed person to process all that. He played that well.... until he didn't.

I mean, who in their right mind will maintain steeze and composure after remembering both your wife's and your murderer? Add your new superpowers and you're a powder keg ready to blow up... and blow up he did! He did exactly what I'm pretty sure all of us will do in that situation, and I approve! He successfully took revenge, in a spectacular fashion too. Or did he??

Now here comes the truly diabolical part. As it turns out, yes, he successfully carried out vengeance against his killer... over and over again. Imagine a situation where memories are uploaded in your brain of scenes that didn't actually happen, you wake up, remember after a while, go on a rampage, kill the offender, only to come back, have your memories wiped out, and get a new target uploaded, rinse and repeat. Yeahh... like I said, phucking diabolical! This level of manipulation is beyond cosmic. I mean, how does one even think of such things? So yeah, that's the plot twist. The owner of the company was using him to wipe out his partners and competitors for sole tech dominance. Yeah, I'm not surprised. Some humans are twisted like that.

I love this part and the parts leading up to it. Watching him tank deadly hits and catch a dangerous payload while withstanding the explosion made my blood boil. I mean, look at those eyes! It's giving both terminator and nightking vibez😌 Shit hit the fan when a competitor prepared a contingency, and Vin found out the truth. He tracked his allegedly 'dead' wife down, found out she moved on after settling things with him, and he had to go. We can all guess what happened from there. They sent other enhanced humans after him, he got captured, but somehow prevailed and destroyed the company in the end.

Giving credit where it's due, KT played her part excellently. Without her intervention, he'd have never escaped the loop they placed him in. I'm also pretty sure she became his love interest later on, although they didn't bother confirming.

Ah yes. I can't forget my personal favourite, Wigans. The genius british hacker and neurologist who was vital in making his escape and subsequent destruction of company a reality. Anywhere Wigans was showed, I almost always laughed. He played his part to perfection. A really funny guy, that one.

Overall, Bloodshot was a wonderful watch, from the beginning right down to the end. I didn't fall asleep at any point! I'll rate it a solid 7.5/10. You should definitely check it out!
