I decided to watch this movie again after many years. I estimate that more than a decade has passed since the last time I saw it.

To my surprise, it was not the masterpiece I remembered. I don't think it's a dreadful film, far from it, but for a long time I thought it was excellent.

One of the things I liked most about this film is how they showed that extreme loneliness can wreak havoc on the sanity and psyche. For example, several times we can see the main character talking to mannequins naturally as if they were real people. Plus at one point he finds one of these mannequins and starts shooting at it.

I don't blame the protagonist. I think we would all go crazy going so many years without human contact. I would probably go crazier and in less time.

In particular, I was a little afraid of the infected. I think that of all the movies and series where infected/zombies appear, in this one they are the most terrifying to me. For the simple fact that they are too athletic and agile. They even look like olympic medalists 😅

There is one scene in particular that breaks my heart. I'm referring to the moment where the dog is infected and Robert in a desperate measure injects him with an experimental cure. Only to later realize that it didn't work and end up suffocating his companion. I swear I remember it as I write and it still tears me up.
I'm sure everyone who saw this movie, still remembers this scene.

I think the main problem with this film is its second half. I consider that it starts very well and ends very badly. This is because during the second half everything is too fast. Too much happens in too little time and it's a bit annoying. It gives the feeling that it lacked 15 or 20 minutes to accommodate the events well.
Creo que el problema principal que tiene esta película es su segunda mitad. Considero que empieza muy bien y termina muy mal. Esto se debe a que durante la segunda parte todo es demasiado rápido. Pasan muchas cosas en muy poco tiempo y es un poco molesto. Da la sensación que le faltaron 15 o 20 minutos para acomodar bien los acontecimientos.
In conclusion, it's a decent movie. Will Smith gives one of his best performances. I think he shines in this role.
En conclusión, es una película decente. Will Smith hace una de sus mejores actuaciones. Creo que se lució con este papel.
To conclude, I would like to give it a rating. For me, I Am Legend deserves a 6/10.

I enjoyed it when I watched it when it released bit as you say, It might not be as good as I remember in case I would do a rewatch so I keep it as it is.
You could watch it no problem. I don't think you'd find it garbage either haha. But probably, you'll notice that it wasn't as good as you remembered.

Quite a legendary film. As at the time it was released it was quite a blast but right now it may not appear that great but it's understandable because a lot has changed in the Hollywood scene.
I still like the movie and I don't deny that in its time it was a hit. Only, I think it didn't age very well and has some mistakes that were overlooked.

STOPConcuerdo contigo de que no es la mejor película de zombies que existe, pero tampoco pienso que sea tan mala, la verdad. Bueno, tal vez lo diga por el tema de la nostalgia y todo eso, pero considero que Will Smith hizo un excelente trabajo, al igual que el director con lo audiovisual y con su historia. Si es cierto que en su tercer acto hay ciertas partes en las que las cosas se sienten un tanto incómodas y hasta extrañas. No sé si esa sea la intención, pero desde que aparecen los otros sobrevivientes hasta su final se ve un tanto forzado la manera en la que se relacionan. Bueno, hay una parte donde el protagonista habla de su cantante favorito y su mensaje que es clave y llega al corazón, pero de resto creo que hasta el mismo final tiene sus detalles. En fin, no es una película perfecta, pero bueno.
